http://chng.it/4JkpmH4c Some of you have heard that the University Press of Kansas is considering shutting down their press. Shutting down this press would make it mire difficult for scholars to publish scholarship, including in education. It sets a poor precedent in academia. This has been a hard year on everyone, but we cannot allow our circumstances to shortchange education. Please sign and share with your circles. If you are in a position, buy a book or three from the press.

Thank you to everyone who has already participated! I'm about 90% of the way there, but still looking for participants. Hello! My name is Joseph Feldman, LCSW and I am a doctoral candidate at Indiana University-Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI). I am recruiting participants for an IRB approved research study. I am looking for educators (principal, counselor, teacher, school social worker, school therapist, etc.) who identify as trauma-informed and are currently working in a US school district that serves students in grades PreK-12 (does not have to be ALL of those grades, just in that range). Participants are being asked to complete an online survey that should take approximately 20 minutes to complete. I have attached a flyer with more information about the study. If you qualify, please consider taking the survey. I would also appreciate it if you could share this information with others who might be interested. Thank you so much! https://iu.co1.qualtrics.com/jfe/form/SV_89bbsZOxzaNlCJf
I am excited to share that my book, "Teachers of Color: Resisting Racism and Reclaiming Education," is now available for pre-order from the publisher! I am so thankful to the 30 inspiring critical educators who trusted me to share their intimate stories of struggle, power, and transformation— this has been a labor of love and learning that couldn't have happened without them. https://www.hepg.org/hep-home/books/teachers-of-color You can use the discount code TCSP21 for 20% off. (Also available via Bookshop.org, Amazon, and Barnes & Noble)
If you want to learn more about educational research, methods, and practice, feel free to subscribe to my YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/c/EvanOrtlieb1. I will be adding at least one new video about research designs each week...particularly mixed methods! This week will be transformational research for social justice! Happy new year!
