Sabanoh Mental Health

Sabanoh Mental Health Sabanoh Mental Health is a practice dedicated to women who need an ear, an objective voice, and a place where they can truly be themselves, in a judgement free zone.

Our goal is to help women find peace and balance so they can be their best selves. Does it seem like your are barely hanging together; smiling through the day when all you want to do is hide, scream, or cry? Are all the pieces in your life falling into place except one area and you can't figure out why? Sabanoh focuses on issues from anxiety/stress, trauma, grief/ loss, self-harm, suicidal thoughts, and more. We have been intensively trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, grief and loss, and Trauma Focused modalities. We also incorporate skills development (when appropriate) for clients whose focus is to change or learn new behaviors. Sabanoh Mental Health is a person-centered practice that provides therapy in the environment most comfortable for our clients; our office, your home, or E-therapy. We also believe in bringing like-minded women together to share, bond, and support one another in our quarterly Empower Hour events.

Tonight at 7pm, please come and learn how therapy and faith work hand in hand.

Mental Health in the Black community has been a taboo subject for decades. It is even more taboo within the Church Community, but it doesn't have to be. Please join Iyamide House Owner of Sabanoh Mental Health as she discusses how faith and therapy can co-exist.

Sabanoh Mental Health is not a faith based private practice, but we do serve clients who are connected with a faith community. We also believe it is important that people understand they can have a strong connection with their faith and have a great therapist.

Current events are just a reminder why it is important to talk to a therapist. An objective and non-judgmental ear, and a validating voice can be the most important self-care routine you implement. Please join me and other clinicians this Tuesday at 8pm here on Facebook, as we have a candid conversation about the therapy process and how to cope with recent events; https://www.facebook.com/events/553811421991778

It's still Mental Health Awareness month, and below is an important conversation with a group of women. Around the 10 minute mark they have a candid conversation about anxiety. Anxiety looks different for people. How does anxiety show up for you?

It’s a Red Table Road Trip! Jada, Gammy and Willow travel to North Carolina to the private home of NBA Royalty to meet the Queens of the Curry Dynasty! Basketball superstar Steph Curry’s wife Ayesha Curry , his mother, little sister and future sister in law get real about everything from anxiety issues to flirtatious female fans. It’s Real Talk with REAL NBA wives.

This has been a tough week to grapple with. Suicide is not easy to understand nor is depression easy to get through. Talk therapy is proven to help curb suicidal thoughts and feelings. Therapy, however is a process, just like depression is an illness. Healing takes time. If you have had suicidal thoughts or are battling depression make sure to protect that time, to talk to someone and begin that healing journey.
