I am grateful that the Supreme Court reaffirmed the independence of our Federal Reserve Board. Federal Reserve governor Lisa Cook earned her seat through decades of expertise and leadership. Our nation's independent regulators need to be shielded from political attacks, and we must remain vigilant against further abuses of power by this administration.

The Supreme Court struck down a state law requiring permission to carry guns in private spaces like stores, restaurants, and hotels. This sets a dangerous standard that threatens public safety.

The American people deserve better. We will continue to fight for common-sense solutions that prevent gun tragedies.

Today in Education & Workforce Committee, I urged my colleagues to support my amendment to H.R. 5505 so no student is punished for actions they didn’t commit. Accountability belongs with those responsible. Families deserve justice, and we shouldn’t undermine a bipartisan bill that saves lives.
