If you have a surplus of fantastic books, you can donate up to two bags of them to the MLK Library Friends this Saturday, June 4 between 12 and 4 pm. Bring them to the A level of the MLK Library at 901 G St NW in DC.
We accept fiction and nonfiction in very good condition. But we don't accept texts, law books or dirty, water-damaged, smelly, falling apart books.

The Friends are back! And MLK Library will start expanded hours in November 2022.

Here are some other update and library events:

DCPL is providing us with a book cart for honor-system book sales. When launched, it will enable us to sell donated volumes and create a more regular revenue stream.

This summer we supported the Punk Rock Roof Shows and paid for the auditorium piano to be tuned. Last year we supported the debut of the StoryWalk program. In honor of the library grand reopening, we commissioned a video of ballet dancers exploring the building.
