"Faded Heroes" by The United States Air Force Band's Max Impact
VETERANS DAY 🇺🇸 | “Faded heroes never fade away.” Penned by Max Impact’s former guitarist Senior Master Sgt. (ret.) Matt Ascione, these words remind us to never forget the sacrifices our honorable veterans have made for our country, whether they are currently serving or put away their uniform decades ago. While the memories may slip away, these heroes remain in our hearts forever. We are forever grateful for those who protect our country in the name of freedom. Join us in thanking a veteran today.
This original composition featuring Max Impact vocalist Technical Sgt. Nadia Sosnoski and the Singing Sergeants’ tenor vocalist, Technical Sgt. Sam Allen, was recorded at The Theater at MGM National Harbor.

"Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy", The United States Air Force Band's Singing Sergeants
BOOGIE WOOGIE BUGLE BOY 🎺 | The Andrews Sisters, nicknamed "America's Wartime Sweethearts," performed with an "enthusiasm and positive national spirit," bringing light during the dark and tough times of World War II. They traveled all around the world visiting military posts, hospitals, radios, and rallies, which boosted morale for all who heard and saw them perform.
"Boogie Woogie Bugle Boy" was one of their greatest hits during WWII. The Andrews Sisters wanted to bring a sense of hope, strength, and joy through their music, and they did just that with this hit. Because of their outstanding influence to the military and our great nation, we keep their legacy alive by performing their well-known tunes for our veterans, troops, and the American public. We hope you enjoy this clip by The United States Air Force Band and the women of the Singing Sergeants bringing the 40's back at the United States Air Force’s 75th birthday celebration this past weekend! What are your favorite Andrews Sisters songs?

The Air Force Song 75th Anniversary Tattoo
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, U.S. AIR FORCE! | On September 18, 1947, The United States Air Force officially became its own branch of the United States military. Originally part of the Army, the Air Force as we know it today evolved from The Aeronautical Section, Signal Corps in 1909, Aviation Section Signal Corps in 1914, United States Army Air Service in 1918, United States Army Air Corps in 1926, and the United States Army Air Forces in 1941. Since then, the Air Force has been proud to innovate, accelerate, and thrive, delivering unparalleled air power anywhere in the world.
As our birthday tribute, we hope you enjoy this clip of the Air Force Song from the Air Force's 75th Birthday Tattoo last week at Audi Field!

"The Air Force Hymn" sung by The United States Air Force Band's Singing Sergeants
THE AIR FORCE HYMN | On September 15th, as a part of the United States Air Force 75th Anniversary Tattoo, The United States Air Force Band's Singing Sergeants performed "The Air Force Hymn" from the stands above Audi Field conducted by commander and conductor of The United States Air Force Band, Colonel Don Schofield.
The text for "The Air Force Hymn" also known as "Lord, Guard and Guide", was written by Scottish born poet, Mary Christian Dundas Hamilton in 1915. It is believed that her nephew, Brigadier James Melville Hamilton might have been the inspiration for the poem.
The hymn is set to the tune of "Quebec" also known as "Hesperus" and is credited to Henry Baker (1835-1910). Baker earned a degree in music despite working as a civil engineer. After WWII, the song was adopted by The United States Air Force as its hymn.

"God Bless America" performed by Technical Sgt. Matt Hill
Did you know that before 9/11, most ballparks in professional baseball marked the seventh-inning stretch of the game by playing the crowd sing-along song "Take Me Out to the Ball Game"? Ever since the September 11 attacks, many American ballparks now complement or replace the song with the playing of "God Bless America".
With so many longing for America's favorite pastime to carry on, we thought we'd share a memory of our recent MLB performance, which just so happened to be yesterday. Please enjoy our very own tenor vocalist Technical Sgt. Matt Hill's rendition of "God Bless America" that helped spur the Washington Nationals to victory!
HALLELUJAH | A cherished song with underlying themes of hardship, love, loss, and redemption, Leonard Cohen's “Hallelujah” is truly open to the listener's interpretation- often moving the audience to tears while simultaneously instilling in them a renewed sense of hope. A crowd favorite on tour, during summer concerts, and even at the White House, The United States Air Force Band’s Singing Sergeants have performed the Pentatonix arrangement of this hit song hundreds of times, and have come to embrace it as their own. We are grateful for the opportunity to share this enigmatic classic with you- turn your sound on, grab a tissue, and please enjoy!
