A bit out of sequence, but very timely today--last year at this time, on July 11, our interns were in the Republic of Artsakh (Nagorno Karabakh), where we visited The HALO Trust, which does vital, lifesaving work. Here you can see some photos, and later today, via our Armenian Assembly of America homepage you can listen to Kristin Stevens, Government Affairs Manager of The HALO Trust USA & Robert Avetisyan Permanent Representative of the Republic of Artsakh in the United States as they discuss the issues.
In June 2019, our interns arrived in Armenia...some for the first time, some speaking Armenian, some not...All were excited by the adventure awaiting them. We promise, it IS an adventure for all, and can be as exciting as YOU make it. In June, we had toured the city, celebrated a birthday, visited Parliament,. Etchmiadzin, St. Gayane, St. Hripsime, St., Sardarapat, Garni Temple, Geghard Monastery, Matenadaran, met with a highly-respected Regional Analyst, learned how to make lavash, and more. That was in just a couple of weeks. July was even busier!
Last year, at this time, we were already fully into our Summer Internship Program in Armenia, and loving every minute of it. Our interns were working, we were taking day & overnight trips to amazing places in Armenia and Artsakh, and interns were meeting with interesting people. We look forward to welcoming interns here in 2021. We'll be sharing a few posts & pictures from last summer's fun...Enjoy the memories and anticipation of your next visit to Armenia. Here -- a must-do -- dressing in traditional Armenian garb.
