We have had a conspicuous slow-down here on the Meta/Facebook-owned sites.
The documentary “The Great Hack” confirmed our own unsavory personal experience regarding the hidden, unwanted cyber grappling hooks Facebook and the subsidiaries Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger organized under the new incarnation Meta have inflicted upon us all.
The Watermelon House was painted and in place 3 years prior to Instagram appearing and we have undoubtedly enjoyed a notoriety through that app. Unfortunately, Facebook made the choice to poison that well from which so many of us have drank. Their putrid fingers reached into us all for far more than they informed, for purposes darker than we could have imagined and we have zero reason to trust the words any iteration Meta can conceive when time and again we learn their actions have been to infest us, prey upon our innocence and manipulate where we never believed they would. Meta, Facebook, Instagram, WhatsApp, Messenger — they have broken and defiled our trust. We hope and wish for sites unconnected to this behemoth to rise and have highest hope said social media would have true beauty as a wish for society as their intention despite the black heart of the aforementioned. We at the Watermelon House do love you. We love your laughter, the smiles, the awkward hellos when we happen to step out mid photo shoot and the whacky zany and simple things we find you doing for you truly are Americana with hearts of gold. Your laughter proves it to us time and again. We long for a means to share that is as pure as your zest for life and fun.
