Washington Global Public Charter School

Washington Global PCS is a community middle school located in Washington, DC that provides students with a rigorous international education.

Washington Global Public Charter School is a tuition-free middle school open to students in Washington, DC. We offer a robust international and research-based academic program to develop globally competitive students who are ready for college and careers. Our program includes project-based learning, small learning communities, technology instruction, arts, and foreign language classes in Spanish

and Korean. We strive for all of our students to be healthy and active through our nutrition, physical education, and athletic programs. We will also serve as a community school that promotes local engagement and service-learning for our students.

DC CAPE scores are in, and our students have made significant gains in both Math and ELA! 🎉

Even more exciting, Washington Global students have officially surpassed the DC state average in ELA on the latest DC CAPE assessments! 📚📈

This incredible achievement reflects the hard work, dedication, and resilience of our students, along with the tireless support of our teachers, staff, and families. From mastering complex reading comprehension to refining critical writing skills, our scholars continue to reach new academic heights and continuous academic growth.

The start of the 2026-2027 is approaching quickly! Washington Global is hosting a meet and greet with teachers and staff for all of our families on August 19th from 2:00pm to 4:00pm. Additionally, new 6th grade students will start on August 19th at 8:00am until 2:15pm through August 21st. New 7th and new 8th grade students will have a 1 day orientation on August 19th from 8:00am until 2:15pm. The first full day of school is August 24th.

SUMMER STRONG SPOTLIGHT

Washington Global's Summer Strong programming included golf, through the school's partnership with First Tee of Greater Washington.

Students who participated in the summer golf program were able to visit the nearby Langston Golf Course to develop their golf skills and incorporate more exercise into their day!

SUMMER STRONG SPOTLIGHT

Currently scholars are studying the human anatomy in the STEAM course in the school's free Summer programming.

As a part of the culmination of this unit, in order to show what they have learned, the scholars have created outlines of their bodies, to draw pictures of and label the parts of the human skeleton.

SUMMER STRONG SPOTLIGHT

As a part of Washington Global's In a Perfect World program this summer, scholars are learning about podcasting and how it relates to their academic growth and how it develops the necessary skills for future careers.

Through podcasting, the scholars are able to broaden their technology skills and interests, while improving their public speaking abilities.

SUMMER STRONG SPOTLIGHT

Thank you to the Korean Cultural Center for hosting Washington Global's Korean Language students for a field trip!

At the Center, students watched a presentation about South Korea, saw the folk paintings on display, listened to traditional music, and tried on traditional clothing.

SUMMER STRONG SPOTLIGHT

This year, Washington Global's free Summer Program is offering a Korean Language and Culture elective course for its scholars!

At the beginning of the course, students learned about Korean foods and table manners. They received a lesson on how to use chopsticks and practiced their technique by snacking on red bean mochi and edible seaweed!

SUMMER STRONG SPOTLIGHT

Washington Global is excited to invite its scholars back for the first week of Summer Strong!

To begin the summer session, the incoming sixth and seventh graders are learning about pressure in STEAM class, piercing a plastic bag full of water with sharp pencils to demonstrate the pressure created by the pencils.

Today they began constructing popsicle stick bridges and will test the amount of pressure each bridge can handle when stacked up with textbooks!

In observance of Juneteenth, Washington Global will be closed today, Friday, June 19th. Washington Global recognizes the significant impact Juneteenth has had on our school community and we stand together, united in the pursuit of equality and equity for all.

The school will reopen on Monday, June 22nd, and the main office will reopen to assist with any questions or inquiries.

Washington Global hosted its annual Spring Benefit on Monday, June 15th. It was a truly special evening as we celebrated Washington Global's many accomplishments, showcased the remarkable talents and achievements of our students, and honored Brett Fuller, Chairman of 2230: A House for the Nations, with the Champion of Service Award.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to Cynthia and Brett Fuller for graciously hosting the event at the magnificent 2230: A House for the Nations. We are also incredibly thankful to our sponsors, Host Committee members, and generous auction donors whose support helped make the evening such a tremendous success.
