You are cordially invited to view an art exhibition titled, Stranded Fishes & Masks on Wheelchairs , which will run from Thursday August 30, to September 7, 2012 at the Embassy of the Republic of Malawi, 2408 Massachusetts Avenue, NW, Washington DC 20008.
Stranded Fishes & Masks on Wheelchairs is a collection of over 20 paintings in acrylic. These are the most recent works of the artist, Massa
Lemu, following his exhibition entitled, "How Do You Describe Color to a Blind Person?" held in Malawi in 2010.
The artist just completed his fellowship at the Museum of Fine Arts, Huston. He also taught drawing at Rice University, Houston.
The paintings reflect on a number of contemporary Malawian and/ or African social issues using the image of the fish and mask dancer.
