After being awarded a scholarship to study in the U.S., Kyrgyz Republic Ambassador to the United States Kadyr Toktogulov came to Governor’s School of S.C. at the College of Charleston in 1997. “My first visit to America was to Charleston. I consider this City my American hometown.”

“That experience showed me the best and brightest of America. It was one the most transformative experiences of my life. It helped me prepare for my current job - Ambassador.”

A terrific morning at Joint Base Charleston— received a Mission Brief from Command Staff, toured the groundbreaking medical Transportation Isolation System (TIS) used by the Base to safely transport patients with contagious diseases and first developed for the 2014 Ebola outbreak, and walked through the @usairforce Globemaster C-17, used to deliver aid around the world.
