*Edit: Joint Visitor Center and South Gate hours changed to 11 a.m. opening.
WEATHER ALERT: JAN. 4 DELAYS AND CLOSURES | Due to inclement weather conditions and for the safety of all Joint Base Anacostia-Bolling residents and employees, the 11th Wing is authorizing delayed reporting for non-emergency essential military and civilian members. In line with OPM guidance, personnel should report no later than 3 hours after typical expected arrival time on Jan. 4. Maximum telework is encouraged. Some 11th Wing units will offer limited customer service. It is highly recommended customers call in advance to ensure availability of services.
Road conditions on main base roads are currently AMBER. Road conditions in base housing are RED.
The 316th Medical Squadron will open at 10:30 a.m. If you have an appointment prior to that time, please call 1-855-227-6331 to reschedule. The Emergent Care Center at Joint Base Andrews will remain open to provide emergency and urgent care services. The Nurse Advice Line (NAL) is available 24/7 for medical information and advice for TRICARE beneficiaries. To reach the NAL, please call 1-888-999-1212, option 1, then 4. COVID testing and vaccination will also delay opening until 10:30 a.m. Those scheduled to receive a COVID vaccine prior to 10:30 a.m. can walk in between 1-4 p.m. or reschedule for another day.
The Joint Visitor Center will open at 11 a.m. The South Gate will open at 11 a.m. for traffic and deliveries on an Entry Authorization List or with a Pass. Commercial traffic that does not have a DBIDS pass ahead of time or are on an EAL will not be granted access outside of extenuating circumstances. Base passes for visitors with a sponsor can still be obtained through the Arnold Gate, which will remain open 24/7. Firth Sterling Gate will not open in the morning.
Mission-essential 11th Force Support Squadron functions that will remain open include the Furnari Restaurant, Lodging, and the Child Development Center. Non-mission essential functions unable to telework will be delayed until approximately 11 a.m.; examples include the ID card section, fitness centers (open 24/7 to registered users), bowling alley, club, and the library. All other FSS functions capable of telework will do so.
Due to limited staffing, childcare will be consolidated to CDC2 starting at 10 a.m. for drop off. As there is limited space available, those needing to use the CDC should call 202-404-8071 in advance to confirm availability. The CDC will begin taking calls at 9 a.m. and will open doors at 10 a.m. If CDC2 is not your child's regular center, please plan to bring in enough supplies (diapers/wipes/change of clothes/etc.) to last your child for the day.
Due to weather and staffing, AAFES services and partners will have the following delayed openings and closures Jan 4:
-JBAB Starbucks will be closed.
-JBAB Express will open at 10 a.m. As a reminder, fuel pumps are available 24/7.
-JBAB Burger King, Food Court and Main Store operations will open at noon.

Phase Two | coronavirus
From the official JBAB page:
COVID TRAVEL REMINDER | For current members of our JBAB Family, as well as for those just readying to make JBAB their new home... make sure you're tracking these recent D.C. changes!
Whether for essential or non-essential travel, there are requirements by which all need to comply if stopping in the D.C. area. See the shared link for details on what that entails if coming from a high-risk area. Click here for areas deemed high-risk: https://coronavirus.dc.gov/phasetwo.
Bottom line? JBAB will continue to implement and enforce Department of Defense measures on the installation to address COVID-19, which include similar requirements for self-quarantine and Restriction-of-Movement (ROM) when traveling from areas that have elevated levels of cases. We should all remain aware of and continue to abide by policies and executive orders in the D.C., Virginia and Maryland put in place to prevent the transmission of this disease in our communities where we live and work.
Stay healthy and stay safe, JBAB Family!
