NAPABA is proud to announce the release of A Portrait of Asian Americans in the Law 2.0. This release tells the story of the 60,000 AAPI attorneys, judges, law professors, and law students in this country and has been one of the most highly anticipated moments for our members, for the AAPI legal community, and profession. NAPABA is proud of our collaboration with the American Bar Foundation, Northwestern Pritzker School of Law, and Yale Law School on this groundbreaking study, and grateful to AABA - Asian American Bar Association of the Greater Bay Area, APABA Silicon Valley, and Asian American Bar Association of New York (AABANY) for their support. So much of what NAPABA does for our members, especially in developing leadership skills and fostering mentorship opportunities has been informed by the original Portrait Project's findings. Version 2.0 will be just as critical as we chart the future. Read more about the report here: https://www.napaba.org/page/PortraitProject2

As part of our NAPABA Community Service Corps initiatives to protect voting rights, we asked for help…and you answered! During the 2022 NAPABA Convention, volunteers made over 44,500 calls to potential AAPI voters around the country. You were the backbone of programs like the national AAPI Voter Hotline and served as poll monitors with local and national partners like Asian Pacific Islander American Vote (APIAVote), Asian Americans Advancing Justice - AAJC, and Asian American Legal Defense and Education Fund (AALDEF) to protect the rights of voters around the country.

NAPABA’s Immediate Past President AB Cruz III presented the President’s Award to The Asian American Foundation and the Asian & Pacific Islander American Health Forum (APIAHF) for their efforts in building the critical infrastructure that is the foundation for supporting and empowering AAPI communities in this country in the wake of the Pandemic and rise in anti-Asian hate. NAPABA also welcomed back former President Bonnie Lee Wolf as she bestowed the 2022 Daniel K. Inouye Trailblazer awards on Deepa Iyer, Paul Uyehara, and Kathy Hirata Chin for their leadership in breaking down barriers, uplifting their communities, and paving the way for future generations of AAPIs to thrive.
