Last month members of our Pacific Island Knowledge 2 Action Resources and Pacific Island Chamber of Commerce staff and leadership attended the Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce & Entrepreneurship AAPI Strong Annual Conference "Strength in Diversity" 2022 in Washington, D.C.
Over 500 AANHPI leaders gathering in Washington, D.C. to celebrate AANHPI Businesses and their economic impact. National ACE honored Susi Feltch-Malohifo'ou, our Executive Director and CEO with the Advocate of the Year award to recognize her advocacy efforts on behalf of the Pacific Islander community. In spite of health challenges, Susi tirelessly showed up to meetings and events, and led efforts to support Pacific Islanders, who too often go unrecognized.
Congratulations to all those who were recognized at the awards dinner and to all of those who gathered for this incredible event. We look forward to continuing this work and becoming better partners and community members in the process.
We officially launched our first program for the 2022-2023 Compassion Circle!
THANK YOU to Harsha Tank, CFO Sodexo and Katie Soo, CMO/Advisor for KiwiCo for an incredible Executive Fireside Chat held tonight that was real, thought provoking and authentic. You are also wonderful human beings and you care about people you lead.
For Consideration:
Harsha: It's about people, process and performance. Help people, bring value. Changing jobs every 4 years is an example of a way to not be stagnant.
Katie: I'm a builder. I've built start-ups. I've designed marketing strategies from the ground up. Once I've done it, I've graduated...
Thank you NAAAP Atlanta for having supported CAPAW to get the Compassion Circle started in 2021. It's about creating community.

Cha Community - It's been a joy for us (co-owners Devin Li & Jaja Chen) to be in DC this week at the Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce & Entrepreneurship annual conference learning from fellow AAPI small businesses, entrepreneurs, and policy leaders.
4 years ago, when we started our small business as a lil pop-up tent, we never anticipated that our mission of bridging cultures and creating community through premium boba tea would lead us to opportunities to meet & speak with our representatives at Capitol Hill and to advocate on behalf of the AAPI small businesses at the federal level alongside National ACE.
Cha Community is more than just boba tea. We value community, diversity, and courage and the importance of representation. This includes community amongst our team & guests at shop spaces, diversity within our menu, and courage to advocate for the communities we are a part of.
Thankful for y'all's continued support! We invite y'all to continue walking alongside us in our mission of bridging cultures and creating community. You never know where seemingly small things like boba tea (and a lil community, diversity, & courage) can take ya! 🧋♥️😍

What a great time representing the PI Community at the Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce & Entrepreneurship Annual Conference by singing the national anthem...
We first learned of Boba Guys in 2019 after trying out Oatly oat milk in boba tea on the West Coast. Having lactose sensitivities, learning of dairy-free oat milk boba was super exciting! 🙌
After learning of the mission & work of Boba Guys, we were inspired as their mission is to bridge cultures and to take the boba industry to next level quality throughout the US. Jesse (our former Cha team member and fam) connected us via Instagram to CEO of Boba Guys Andrew Chau. We couldn't believe it when Andrew responded and eventually became a mentor to us throughout our small business journey!
From navigating scaling our business to growing throughout the COVID-19 pandemic, Andrew has been a major support for our small business and many other AAPI entrepeneurs - especially as an Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce & Entrepreneurship board member and having gone leap years before us. So thankful to have finally met Andrew IRL (in real life) throughout this week at the National ACE conference in DC!
We are stronger when we grow together and we are thankful for the AAPI community throughout the US and the ways we co-create together. We can't do it alone and having strong eco-systems is crucial. Thankful for the boba community. You never know where it'll take ya!🧋♥️
As Mayor Bowser highlights the strength in diversity and giving a fair shot to everyone, 's Director spoke about AAPI small businesses in DC and their resilience and contribution on the opening day of Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce & Entrepreneurship’s Annual Conference.
Exhaused but excited to start our journey to Washington DC to do photography work for Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce & Entrepreneurship's annual conference! More pics to come, for sure!
Hey Community! Exciting news! We (Cha Community co-owners Devin & Jaja) were invited to participate in the Asian/Pacific Islander American Chamber of Commerce & Entrepreneurship (National ACE) conference beginning tomorrow (Monday) in Washington DC.
We will be out a few days there to learn from national experts in business and policy development and have also been invited to visit and advocate for Asian representation & small businesses at Capitol Hill alongside National ACE. Follow our journey in stories in the days to come! 🇺🇸
