The countdown to an exciting new school year has begun!

In just two weeks, we'll welcome our Preppies and families back for Fall Orientation. Join us on Thursday, August 20, from 12 PM to 7 PM, at all DC Prep campuses.

This is your opportunity to meet your child's teachers, connect with school staff, explore your campus, and get everything you need for a successful first day of school.

We can't wait to welcome you back and begin another year of learning, growth, and joy together.

Welcome to the 2026–27 school year!

Across all DC Prep campuses, our PK3 and PK4 Preppies will kick off the year with Prep Week, a special first week designed to help our youngest students build routines, get to know their teachers, and transition into school with confidence.

Swipe to find your child's Prep Week schedule based on the first letter of their last name.

Please note: Students in Kindergarten through 8th grade begin school on Monday, August 24 and will attend a full school day.

Families with children in multiple grades may have different arrival and dismissal schedules during Prep Week.

En todos los campus de DC Prep, nuestros estudiantes de PK3 y PK4 comenzarán el año con Prep Week, una semana especial diseñada para ayudar a nuestros Preppies más pequeños a establecer rutinas, conocer a sus maestros y hacer una transición segura y positiva a la escuela.

It was wonderful to see new and returning families connecting with one another, meeting our staff, and getting excited for the upcoming school year.

Learning to read is about more than recognizing words on a page. It's about building the skills and confidence students need to succeed in every subject.

Every day at DC Prep, students engage in structured reading instruction that helps them strengthen foundational reading skills.

Reading instruction is woven throughout the school day through whole-class lessons, small-group instruction, independent reading, writing, and targeted intervention, giving every Preppie multiple opportunities to practice and grow.

When students become confident readers, they become confident learners.

Our alumni continue to show what is possible.

This month, we are proud to highlight Winta Brhane, a DC Prep EMC graduate from the Class of 2020.

Winta is currently a rising junior at Boston College, where she is studying Biology. This summer, she is gaining hands-on experience as a medical assistant at a cardiology clinic as she continues pursuing a career in healthcare.

Her journey reflects the dedication, perseverance, and ambition that define our alumni and the bright futures they continue to build.

Learning to read is one of the most important skills a child will ever develop. Strong literacy skills built in the early years help students succeed not just in reading, but across every subject.

That's why DC Prep's literacy instruction is grounded in the Science of Reading and evidence-based practices. Our educators use data to personalize instruction, identify learning gaps early, and give every Preppie the support they need to become confident readers.

We're proud that our approach was recently featured at the Council of Chief State School Officers (CCSSO) conference, where our educators shared how research-based instruction, family partnership, and data-driven teaching are helping improve student outcomes.

At DC Prep, the fun doesn’t end with the school day. It expands!

Our free after school activities help students gain confidence, build friendships, and learn teamwork in a safe and supportive environment.

Depending on their campus and grade level, Preppies can participate in a variety of sports throughout the school year, including:

Co-Ed Soccer | Co-Ed Flag Football | Boys Cross Country | Girl Cross Country | Boys Basketball | Girls Basketball | Co-Ed Cheer

Whether they're scoring the winning basket, cheering on their teammates, or crossing the finish line, every student has the opportunity to challenge themselves, discover new passions, and grow beyond the classroom.
