Yesterday, MPD's Internal Affairs Bureau and Hockey Team dropped off 1,551 toys to the children at Children’s National Hospital! Thank you to all who participated in this toy drive benefiting Dr. Bear's Closet. We love spreading holiday cheer to these deserving children each and every year!🎁
The Third District’s Angel Tree Gift Giveaway was a success! Over 200 kids came to receive gifts, enjoy good food, and take pictures with Santa! 🎄

Today, Congress honored the Metropolitan Police Department and the United States Capitol Police with the Congressional Gold Medal, the highest expression of national appreciation for distinguished achievements and contributions, for our service and sacrifice on January 6, 2021.
We appreciate this honor that has been bestowed upon us. The bravery of our law enforcement members that day will never be forgotten.

The donations made to Dr. Bears Closet ensure that patients continue to have opportunities to play and be kids with the many donated toys, games, and books in Dr. Bear’s Closet. Whether comfort is needed before a child’s medical procedure or to celebrate a birthday, Dr. Bear’s Closet is fully stocked with age-appropriate gifts that will brighten the patients’ day.
