DHS congratulates its honorees of the 20th Annual Cafritz Awards!
thanks These Awards celebrate the achievements of DC Government employees and innovative teams that uphold the public interest amid competing interests, pressures, and demands. This is an amazing achievement, and these individual and team award recipients reflect the hard work of the entire DHS team and their commitment to the residents of the District of Columbia.
Honorees include:
Scott Sibley, a Community Liaison Specialist in the DHS Office of the Director, connects District residents experiencing homelessness to housewares and other essential household items that support their transition from homelessness to stable housing. Throughout the COVID-19 public health emergency, he works with community partners to secure resources and support items for residents convalescing at the District's Pandemic Emergency Program for Medically Vulnerable Individuals (PEP-V), and Isolation and Quarantine sites. Scott receives a trophy and $7,500 cash prize.
The Pandemic Emergency Program for Medically Vulnerable Individuals Team of DHS supports people without a home who are at increased risk of COVID-19 due to underlying medical conditions, ensure they have a safe place to stay and access to health care. Team members include Kimberly Baxter, Lauren Bunns, Ashlee Burks, Chicora Chatmon, Derrick Hampton, Dena Hasan, Christian Howard, Omar Jones, Sheila Jones and Anthony Newman. The team receives a special "Leadership in Crisis" Cafritz Team Award, with an accompanying $10,000 cash prize shared equally among the team members.
