🗳️ Ward 8, your vote is your voice—and there is still time to make it heard.

Early Vote Centers are open this weekend and ready to help answer your questions about the ballot, especially with Ranked Choice Voting being used in this election. If you’re unsure how to complete your ballot, don’t wait until the last minute. Stop by a vote center, ask questions, and make sure your vote counts.

We’ve included a list of:
✅ Early Vote Centers in Ward 8 (open thru Sunday, June 14 from 8:30 AM to 7:00 PM)
✅ 24-hour Ballot Drop Box locations (open until 8 PM on Election Day)
✅ Election Day Vote Centers that will be available across the Ward (Vote from 7AM to 8PM)

Please take a moment to review the locations and share this information with your family, friends, neighbors, church members, and community groups. Too much is at stake to sit this one out.

Whether you’re voting for Mayor, Delegate to Congress, At-Large Councilmember, Democratic State Committee, or other offices, make a plan and cast your ballot.

This week, the Ward 8 Democrats will re-air the video conversations with Democratic candidates for Mayor and Delegate to Congress. These conversations are an important opportunity for Ward 8 voters to hear directly from the candidates, compare their visions, and prepare to make informed choices in the upcoming election.

The first stream airs on Tuesday, June 9, at 7 PM.

🗳️ The Ward 8 Democrats Straw Poll Results are in!

The poll included all contests appearing on the June 16 ballot for Ward 8 voters.

Thank you to voters, candidates, and campaigns who participated and helped make this a valuable opportunity to learn about Ranked Choice Voting and engage with the election process.

These results do not constitute an endorsement by the Ward 8 Democrats and are intended solely for voter education and engagement.

Most importantly, we encourage all Ward 8 voters to cast their “actual ballot” by June 16, whether by mail, at a drop box location, during early voting, or on Election Day. Make sure you read the instructions carefully or have a trusted advisor help you. And if you have questions about how to complete your ballot, we encourage you to visit an early or same day vote center for help.

We asked every campaign to help invest in voter engagement and education in Ward 8. Some stepped up; some did not. In the interest of transparency, we’re sharing who responded to support the Ward 8 Democrats’ Get Out The Vote efforts as of May 28, 2026. Regardless of who you support, make a plan join us on Saturday at Sycamore & Oak beginning at 11:30 AM for our candidate forum and straw poll. And don’t forget to vote by June 16.

The Ward 8 Democrats invite you to join us for our 2026 Democratic Primary One-On-One Candidate Forum & Straw Poll on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at Sycamore & Oak.

Doors open at 11:30 AM/Voting goes from Noon to 3:00 PM

This is not a traditional forum; it's a quick one-on-one chat, like musical chairs. We'll talk with some of the candidates running for Mayor, Delegate to Congress, Council, and other offices appearing on the Ward 8 Democratic primary ballot. These candidates will make their closing argument as Ward 8 residents prepare to cast their ballots. The DC Board of Elections will also be there to answer any questions about the voting.

Straw Poll: Only previously registered Ward 8 Democratic voters will be allowed to vote in the straw poll. Voting will be conducted on your phone using an online ballot with Ranked Choice Voting. Help will be provided for seniors or anyone needing tech assistance.
