The Embassy of Barbados in Washington D.C. wishes all Barbadians in the United States a happy Independence Day. Barbados at 54 is a country that we can continue to be proud of, with strong leadership, stability in the midst of an unprecedented crisis, and a whole-of-government commitment to the protection of the Barbadian way of life.

We also take this opportunity to thank the Barbadian community for their support of the We Still Gatherin’ celebration, and we look forward to strengthening the ties between our embassies, consulates and the diaspora in the years ahead.

Congratulations! I had the pleasure of marvelous hospitality in Christ Church when I was a US Peace Corps trainee many decades ago. Great memories!
Good day to all. I recently saw this article (and others) about the Barbados government expanding citizenship to grandchildren of Barbadian descent. This article states: Citizenship will be available to the grandchildren and great-grandchildren of Barbadian citizens. Does anyone know when this Nationality Law will go before Parliament? My paternal grandfather was born in Barbados and I would be eligible to receive this passport. Given the reference in the article, my daughter would also gain Barbados citizenship. Thanks so much.
