This year, campers worked with the incredible team from precipicetheaterteam to explore and express grief using movement and storytelling to help them process loss in a way words alone can’t always reach.

Because grief doesn’t have to be carried alone. At the Camp Forget-Me-Not/Camp Erin DC, every camper finds a circle of people who understand.

Cuteness overload! Our amazing campers and volunteers got to meet with fluffy therapy dogs, thanks to People Animals Love. Grief camp can be emotionally draining, but feeling their love makes it a little easier!

Dance class? Exercise class? All of the above! Today our campers learned some amazing new moves with crazylegzbyf, reminding us that moving our minds and bodies helps us grieve.

is touched by love every step of the way.

For years, The UMW has generously donated hundreds of bears to help comfort grieving children. Their volunteers lovingly tie ribbons, add name tags, and tuck in notes of encouragement before sending each bear on its way.

Wendt Center volunteers place each bear into a camper’s backpack, where it waits to be discovered.

To many children, it’s more than a teddy bear. It’s a reminder support at camp and a reminder that no has to grieve alone.

Thank you, The UMW, for wrapping our campers in love—one bear at a time

Processing grief can be hard work. It definitely can make you hungry. Big thanks to Andy’s Pizza for donating lunch and helping keep camp free!
