$147 million in second group of Western Union refunds

Big news for those who have lost money to scammers via Western Union. Many of those who have already filed claims are receiving refund checks now, and for those who have not yet filed a claim, there may still be a chance to do so.

Refund checks worth about $147 million are going out to almost 33,000 people who sent money to scammers through Western Union wire transfers.

Pandemic Brings Drop in Robocalls in May

In May, U.S. consumers were bombarded with almost 3 billion robocalls, more than 95 million a day, an industry estimate shows.

But there's a silver lining: The robocall volume in May was significantly lower than the record-shattering almost 5.7 billion calls last October.

As the coronavirus pandemic spread globally, there was drop in robocalls in May possibly due to closure of call centers in many countries.
