Lee Montessori Public Charter Schools Lee Montessori was founded in 2014 to foster a lifetime love of learning and cultivate independence Montessori education also places a high value on courtesy.

Lee Montessori Public Charter Schools provide a high-quality, student-centered experience for a racially and socio-economically diverse community with the goal of empowering each child we serve to transform society. At our two schools in Brookland and Anacostia, students receive individualized or small-group academic lessons in multi-age classrooms taught by highly trained instructors. Children are encouraged to work independently with hands-on manipulative materials that help them to make discoveries in mathematics, language, science, geography, geometry, art, and music. Lee Montessori's core values are grace, equity, growth, bravery, and joy. We ask all of our community members to act according to these values, especially in writing. Our 2025-26 DC CAPE results are in. At Brookland, ELA proficiency grew 10 points to 52% — five times the city growth, and 12 points above the DC average. At East End, students grew significantly in every area of the test, with double-digit growth in math. Swipe for the numbers, and congratulations to our students and the educators who teach them!
