HS1 for HB 150 -

Public confidence in government is weakened when one branch or level of government attempts to shield individuals from another’s lawful authority. Rather than limiting enforcement, policymakers should focus on improving communication and coordination among agencies to ensure both access to the courts and effective law enforcement.

No one should be above the law, and no government building should become a sanctuary from lawful enforcement actions simply because some disagree with the laws being enforced.

MYTH: De-escalation always works.
FACT: De-escalation requires someone willing to comply.

When a suspect chooses violence, officers must choose survival.

June is PTSD Awareness Month.

Many heroes carry wounds that can't be seen. Let's continue to raise awareness, break the stigma, and remind those who are struggling that they don't have to go it alone.

Mayor Ras J. Baraka Statement on June 7th Incident At Delaney Hall

06/09/2026

Vidal George-Jimenz, of Honduras, just finished up a 2012 r**e conviction sentence that followed his arrest by police in Portland on charges of so**my, sexual abuse, sexual pe*******on and strangulation.

Unfortunately, due to sanctuary policies in Portland, officials refused to honor an ICE detainer, and he was released back into the community after serving his sentence.

ICE Portland Fugitive Operations had to find him in the community at-large. Officers arrested him May 21 at his residence.

Just can’t understand your fascination with these criminals. Worry about your state (and its numerous issues) and not the Federal Government and their property.
