General information

APAICS programs focus on developing leadership, building public policy knowledge, and filling the political pipeline for Asian Pacific Americans to pursue public office at the local, state, and federal levels. APAICS addresses the need for more Asian Pacific American political leaders at all levels, including: - A two day Leadership Academy for Asian Pacific American Elected Officials where participants are provided with training in various areas, including campaigning, fundraising, media relations and coalition building. - Fellowships and summer internships for qualified graduate and undergraduate students to work in the U.S. Congress, Federal government, or non-profit organizations. APAICS also partners with the Congressional Black Caucus Foundation (CBCF) and Congressional Hispanic Caucus Institute (CHCI) to offer several joint “Tri-Caucus” programs throughout the year. Through the Tri-Caucus, participants learn about coalition building and develop a greater understanding of the needs and challenges faced by different underserved minority groups.
