Federal grants sound boring — until they're gone.

Russ Vought, the OMB Director who authored Project 2025, is pushing a rule change that would give him personal control over more than a trillion dollars in federal grants. Dr. Angela Rasmussen, our Science Chair, breaks down what's actually at stake.

Three things to know:

This is an end run around the Constitution. Congress is supposed to decide how taxpayer money is spent. This rule centralizes that power in one unelected official.
It touches almost everything that makes your community run — not just scientific research (though it ends that too). Bridges and utilities, small-business loans, farm subsidies, rural services, health departments, hospitals, food banks, libraries, parks, fire departments, ambulances, even election administration. Anything Vought decides he doesn't like can be branded "DEI" or "wasteful" and cut.
It requires every grant to "directly support presidential priorities," rewarding political loyalty and punishing dissent — and it would take effect right in time for the midterms.

Here's what you can do, and it's easy: there's an open public comment period, and by law these comments have to be read and answered. Tell them how this would affect you and your community. Make it clear it's unacceptable.

This is one year of the Save America Movement — and one year of you standing with us.

A year of meeting ICE raids in the street. Of reading the Epstein files aloud when the powerful wanted them buried. Of standing with journalists, with families who can't pay rent or buy groceries, with every child this system was ready to abandon.

Dr. King told us the greedy few fear one thing above all: the masses — Black, white, and brown — coming together. This year, we did. We showed up. You showed up with us.

They want you afraid and alone. But there are more of us than there are of them — and we're not going anywhere.

We're just getting started.

We talk a lot about policy and elections. But this clip is about something harder to measure: what Trump did to how we treat each other.

Jennifer Welch remembers laughing with Republicans over an Obama book. Now? "You can't even joke around with anybody about it. At all."

That's the cost.

Tacky gold trim, torn-up sod, and a "reflecting pool" full of algae and dead ducks. Welcome to the Home & Garden section of a foreclosed Big Lots.

Today at 12pm ET, Steve Schmidt and Dean Blundell are live on DEAD AIR for a masterclass in aesthetic and political destruction. Following the absolute circus of the White House Octagon fight night, the executive mansion looks less like a historic global landmark and more like a trashed fairground.

To help handle the sheer horror of it all, we are bringing in a pair of brilliant guests who have officially "had it" with the desecration of our nation’s capital: Jennifer Welch and Angie "Pumps" Sullivan from the hit I've Had It podcast!

Nothing and no one is safe from this panel. From the absolute tackiness of the administration's "decorating choices" to the sycophants enabling it, we are pulling no punches. We just hope JD Vance's eyeliner is waterproof today.

On today’s episode:

The Post-UFC Ruins: Surveying the literal damage to the South Lawn, from the toxic algae pools to the torn-up historic grounds.

I've Had It with Autocracy: Jennifer and Pumps bring their signature unfiltered humor to the bleak reality of Washington's new aesthetic.

Not Today, Fascists: A preview of Jennifer's highly anticipated upcoming book on fighting back against institutional rot with zero apologies.

The Tacky Empire: Why changing the visual landscape of our monuments is a deliberate strategy to strip them of their democratic dignity.

Guest Profiles:

Jennifer Welch: Co-Host, I've Had It Podcast; Author of the upcoming book “Not Today, Fascists” (Coming October 6!).

Angie "Pumps" Sullivan: Co-Host, I've Had It Podcast.

If you could travel back in time to stop a global catastrophe at its root, would you do it? And what happens when the timeline fights back?Today at 12pm ET, Steve Schmidt is joined live by celebrated columnist, commentator, and editor Michael Tomasky to discuss his provocative, darkly funny new satirical novel, “Killing Baby Hi**er.”

Set in a future where the planet is ruled by billionaires, democracy is a dead relic, and the environment has collapsed, a ragtag team of scientists uncovers the secret to time travel. Their mission seems simple: eliminate history's most infamous villain in his infancy. But rewriting history is a dangerous game. Instead of erasing fascism, they trigger a terrifying new timeline where Hi**er grows up in America, editing a hateful newspaper, and warping reality in ways that hit way too close to home. It is a Kurt Vonnegut-meets-Doctor Who style romp that skewers power, questions the logic of hindsight, and reminds us that the present is the hardest time of all to change.

On today’s broadcast:The American Timeline: Exploring Tomasky's dark twist of shifting authoritarianism to American soil and why it mirrors our current political landscape.
The Illusion of the Quick Fix: Why changing one variable in history doesn’t magically erase systemic hatred and greeds.
Media and Manipulation: How the "hateful newspapers" of the alternate timeline reflect the reality-warping media networks of 2026.
Satire as a Weapon: Why fiction and dark humor are sometimes the most effective tools for exposing real-world autocratic threats.

Guest Profile: Michael Tomasky: Editor of The New Republic and Democracy: A Journal of Ideas; Author of “Killing Baby Hi**er.”
