Located in most states, our Procurement Technical Assistance Centers (PTAC) offer training and counseling on marketing, financial, and contracting issues. They also assist in identifying the procurement opportunities that are best suited for your small business. Staffed by professional business advisors, our Small Business Development Centers support your company’s growth and sustainability by providing assistance in the areas of financing, operations, management, and marketing. 4. Update: SBA Issues 8(a) Program Term Extension Rule - SmallGovCon

The U.S. Small Business Administration issued its rule allowing for an extension of 8(a) program terms by one year, as directed by Congress. The rule was effective immediately on January 13. To qualify as a 8(a) program, here is the eligibility checklist:

✅ Be a small business
✅ Not already have participated in the 8(a) program
✅ Be at least 51% owned and controlled by U.S. citizens who are economically and socially disadvantaged
✅ Be owned by someone whose personal net worth is $750,000 or less
✅ Be owned by someone whose average adjusted gross income for three years is $350,000 or less
✅ Be owned by someone with $6 million or less in assets
✅ Have the owner manage day-to-day operations and also make long-term decisions
✅ Have all its principals demonstrate good character
✅ Show potential for success and be able to perform successfully on contracts
