Throughout Women's History Month, we've honored the women who blazed a trail at HUD. But as March comes to a close, it's only fitting to recognize the #WomenWhoBuiltHUD of *now*, starting with Chief of Staff Jenn Jones, a social justice leader grounded in building more equitable communities.

Today, the Federal Housing Administration and HUD Office of Housing announced the final endorsement & completed construction of a $12M loan used to finance the rehabilitation and build of an affordable multifamily apartment project that includes 87 units located throughout three city blocks. http://ow.ly/tUci50IlWq4
Today, HUD announced two loan guarantees:
A $1.1 million guarantee will go to Berks County, Pennsylvania to assist the Berks County Nonprofit Development Corporation in financing the rehabilitation of a commercial property in Oley Township.
A $5 million guarantee will go to St. Johns County, Florida to help finance the construction of the Hastings Community Center and Library Project.

Meet Ben. He shares his journey through the foster care system, experiencing homeless and how he overcame it all with help from a local HUD-funded homeless program.
“Housing gave me peace of mind. Once we got here then we could begin to organize our thoughts. We could organize our living. We had place that we could call home.” Ray and Rene’ Raysor share their story of how they experienced homelessness and how HUD-funded programs helped them get back on their feet.
“Homelessness does not define who you are.” Meet DaeJanae. She experienced homeless while in college but under HUD-funded programs, she continued going to school and had a safe place to call home.
“It’s been a long time since I had a place of my own.” Meet Cedric. After serving our country in the military, he experienced homelessness but through assistance from the District of Columbia Housing Authority and the HUD-VASH program found an affordable place to live.
Meet Porsche. After serving our country in the United States Navy, she experienced homelessness but under the HUD-VASH program found an affordable place to live.
Meet Gregory. He experienced homelessness for over 20 years but under HUD-funded programs at the District of Columbia Housing Authority he found a safe and affordable place to live. After moving into his new apartment, he worked towards self-sufficiency and eventually became a first-time homeowner.
Meet Tai. She recently found herself experiencing homelessness but under HUD's homeless programs, she found an affordable place to live and is now working towards self-sufficiency.
