There's always more that can be done
Be strategic. Don't just keep running a play that isn't working. But if you want to get ahead, do more. Try more. Learn more. Push harder. Work longer. Dream big and execute bigger. That's the way forward.

Coyote, a Chicago-based transportation management services company owned by UPS Inc., is planning a capital investment of up to $3.6 million in Detroit's Corktown neighborhood. Having outgrown its current facility in Ann Arbor, the company plans to lease an existing building to create 300 new jobs. Coyote primarily recruits recent college graduates.
The Michigan Strategic Fund's board approved grants and tax breaks to two companies that would create 800 new jobs in the region.
More great jobs for Michigan

“The foundation of Ford — the trucks — is still healthy, but there are concerns about whether Ford has prepared for tomorrow and the future,” said Karl Brauer, executive publisher of the auto information providers Autotrader and Kelley Blue Book. “Ford hasn’t been effective enough in convincing investors that they are.”
With its stock at its lowest point since 2009, the company plans to trim its salaried work force and is exploring an alliance with Volkswagen.
Following Tuesday’s strike, fast-food and other local union and nonunion workers will launch a 2018 election canvass aimed at knocking on hundreds of thousands of doors in Michigan to elect candidates at the local, state and federal level in November who will use their power to make it easier for workers to win a union.
FLINT, Mich. --Hundreds of fast food workers will be taking to the streets Tuesday morning as they fight to be paid $15 an hour, according to a news release. Local 324's five-year contract expired in June but the union workers stayed on their jobs until Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association, which represents the contractors, imposed a work stoppage on Sept. 4.
The local has said it does not want to negotiate a new contract with MITA. The union said it preferred to bargain with individual contractors.

Cadillac moved to New York four years ago in search of a new start for a brand that was failing to appeal to a new generation of luxury buyers — and to create distance between GM's luxury marque and its mainstream siblings. But on the onset of an ambitious product launch schedule, Cadillac is shrinking that distance to put its team closer to the engineering and design hub at the Warren Technical Center.
Cadillac's headquarters is heading back home, but will keep some "brand presence" at Cadillac House in New York's SoHo neighborhood
The Michigan Infrastructure & Transportation Association has announced that non-union workers will replace union workers to continue construction on Michigan's roads.
This resolution came hours after Gov. Rick Snyder announced Tuesday a solution still had not been reached in the road building dispute between union members and contractors.

Several major projects across the state have been brought to complete stop as the lockout dragged on, including the massive 696 reconstruction, 75 bridge projects, and roughly 150 other projects.
Michael Nystrom, executive vice president of MITA said the lockout is a result of "coercive, disruptive and unlawful activities the union has spearheaded against MITA contractors." Nystrom said that the lockout will end when the union ratifies the proposed contract which increases wages and benefits by $8 per hour, or 14.4 percent over five years to $63.67 per hour.
Michigan Governor Rick Snyder was hopeful Tuesday morning to announce an update on the ongoing lockout with the Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association (MITA) and the road workers union - but three weeks after the stoppage, nothing has changed.
The Michigan Infrastructure and Transportation Association instituted the work stoppage on Sept. 4 after multiple failed attempts to bargain a new contract with the Operating Engineers Local 324. A prior, five-year deal expired in June.

Microsoft introduced Dynamics 365 AI for Customer Service and Dynamics 365 AI for Market Insights at an event in San Francisco. The former will highlight existing and emerging issues that agents face and help with the deployment of chatbots that can handle inquiries. The latter is meant to help marketers see what people are talking about on channels like social networks.
Microsoft is coming out with easy-to-use software to make sense of incoming customer-service inquiries and respond to questions.

A subset of Industry 4.0 is smart manufacturing, defined by The National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) as systems that are “fully-integrated, collaborative manufacturing systems that respond in real time to meet changing demands and conditions in the factory, in the supply network, and in customer needs.”
This strategic application of technology is making the manufacturing process increasingly intelligent and dynamic, allowing the concept of smart factories to become a reality.
The successful adoption of new technologies into the manufacturing sector depends on the rise of 5G, according to Brendan Lynch
What can we do for solutions?
Michigan, we have a safe drinking water problem. This National Drinking Water Week help us share the real story about Michigan’s failing infrastructure. #FixMIState #DrinkingWaterWeek
⚠️The half-life of a skill is decreasing as the increasingly integrated 🤖technology gives access to new information. Businesses in all industries will need to be proactive and innovative with 📚skill-building within their organization to succeed and have higher employee retention.
❓❔ Question to ask right now: Do you have a plan for talent development? 📋📈👇
♾Make lifelong learning the mindset♾
Conversation about future jobs often reflect fear of "robots replacing humans at work".
🤖With automation and AI, integration is everywhere and will create job shifts. Do you know what jobs are affected first? Do you know where new opportunities will be?
💯Ignorance is not the solution. Join Working Class Heroes in building a better future through collaboration and information sharing. DO SOMETHING about your future.

For a prosperous #future, we must ask how all of us, and the technological systems we #design and #build, can serve the proper ends and not be confined to the means. Our efforts must focus on the #impact of the Fourth Industrial Revolution on human beings, society and the environment, and not just focus on technological progress or economic productivity.
“Leadership in these complex times requires nothing less than a wholesale shift of our mental models,” writes Klaus Schwab.
🌍It's important to think global perspective with the future of work. (Account for migration!)
Survey shows the majority of people would move to USA for work. We must prepare for and consider this.
👇If you think the future is some vague distant place in time, you're going to be blind-sided by reality very soon. It is not a matter of IF technology and automation replaces jobs, it is a matter of WHICH jobs, WHEN and what that means.
"Yes, change is the basic law of nature. But the changes wrought by the passage of time affects individuals and institutions in different ways. According to Darwin’s Origin of Species, it is not the most intellectual of the species that survives; it is not the strongest that survives; but the species that survives is the one that is able best to adapt and adjust to the changing environment in which it finds itself. Applying this theoretical concept to us as individuals, we can state that the civilization that is able to survive is the one that is able to adapt to the changing physical, social, political, moral, and spiritual environment in which it finds itself."
- Professor Leon C Megginson
Louisiana State University 1963

Both sides are dug in. MITA officials said they won't relent until the 2,000 or so operating engineers off the job from Marquette to Monroe accept their contract.
Union officials said MITA refused to negotiate all summer, so they aren't talking now.
Metro Detroiters are willing to deal with the nuisance of a construction project if it means getting a pockmarked road fixed. But now, many orange barrels are remaining on roads without any work going on behind them.
