Our executive director, Jacob Feinspan, is featured in Common Dreams !

“Some politicians and community leaders attempt to build their own power by fueling antisemitism and exploiting divisions within our communities. They want Jews to feel isolated and alone. But isolation is not a path to safety… the way through this anxiety is relationships. Building and maintaining relationships with people who are different from me means that I have people to reach out to for a better understanding of our differences.” Read more about what Jacob has to say here: bit.ly/jcfjs

Thank you to our Montgomery County JUFJ Campaign Fund community for all the strategic work, phone banking, door knocking, and poll working throughout this election season. You helped support leaders who believe in a Montgomery county that works for all of us.

Yasher koach / well done to Will Jawando, Laurie Anne Sayles, Fatmata Barrie, Izola Shaw, and Debbie Spielberg, who all ran on bold progressive change in Montgomery County. Regardless of the outcome of this election, your campaigns show how our county can move forward.

A huge CONGRATS to Sarah David, who has secured a clear victory in the race for Baltimore County State’s Attorney!

Sarah has worked to hold corrupt public officials accountable, and she is committed to an approach that treats children as children and connects people in mental health or substance abuse crises with support. We are excited to work alongside her in the coming years!

As Jews, we know that every vote is sacred, just as every person is sacred. Every single one of us is entitled to a say in our democracy, and last week, DC voters had their say, with historic wins all around.

Of the seven candidates the JUFJ Campaign Fund ranked first this primary election, ALL won their races. Mazel tov / a hearty congratulations to all of these candidates!

We are so proud to be part of that coalition with all of you. With every voter you called, door you knocked, house party you planned, neighbor or loved one you talked to, and polling location shift you worked, you made real the vision of a multi-racial democracy in our city. These wins are possible because of the people power we build together. Thank you.

Celebrate these victories with us on Sunday, June 28 at 5:00 PM in DC. RSVP here: jufjcampaignfund.org/event/dc-celebrate/

We are deeply concerned about the misleading "Democratic Sample Ballots" that were sent to voters in Montgomery County by a number of Maryland State Senators. At a time when voting rights are under attack by the Trump administration and public trust in elections continues to erode, it is the responsibility of our elected leaders to communicate with constituents in a way that deepens trust. In response, we've contacted these State Senators sharing our concerns and urging them, in the spirit of teshuva, to clarify with voters that these mailers only represent their personal endorsements.

The Montgomery County Primary Election is next week, and in District 3, voters have an especially important decision to make.

Rabbi Marc Israel of Tikvat Israel Congregation spoke from the bimah about the District 3 race, urging Jewish voters to go beyond the inflammatory soundbites and understand the real issues at stake in the election.

“While I won’t endorse a candidate, I feel the need to defend candidates when they’ve come under an unfair attack, especially when that attack came from within the Jewish community.”

Watch a recap of his sermon here:

Jewish community members know that Rockville City Councilmember Izola Shaw is the right person for Montgomery County Council District 3. She’s worked alongside the Jewish community for almost a decade to fight hate and bias, to make stable housing for renters a reality in Montgomery County, and she will continue to make our County a safe place for everyone to live and thrive when she is elected to the County Council.

Next week, vote Izola for District 3!
