Exceedingly proud of the advocacy work we do at MANA for health equity - making our voices heard and seeking solutions. Being invited to the White House to hear about new initiatives to help more American get good insurance and access to care is a reminder that our voices matter. There are more than 30 million Latinas in the United States, and they're counting on us to be their voice. Health Equity Collaborative Health Equity Coalition for Chronic Disease

In our quest for health equity, we have to follow the money to see if it reaches the intended communities in most need. More accountability is needed to ensure it does.

We are not a monolith: The diverse perspectives of Latinas will be represented in Congress at new levels. This is a great step, but we still have work to do to achieve equitable representation.

At least eight Democrat and four Republican Latinas are projected to win seats in the U.S. House, and more races are too close to call.

Hey MANA! Do you know of anyone looking to complete a medical assistant, or computer degree quickly? We are placing our graduates with jobs in 7 months and are able to provide a lot of financial assistance so they can reach their goals!
One of our own wise Latinas is running for office in Washington, DC. She was born in Columbia, raised in the Lower East Side of NYC, and moved to DC when she got a scholarship to attend Georgetown University for law school. She is civil rights attorney and has been working hard for our families ever since. If you live in DC, learn about her by clicking below and spread the word. If she wins, she would be the FIRST immigrant and the FIRST Latina to represent DC. I have known her for 20 years and will be voting for her. I hope you will too!

Thanks so much for all the great work you do to support our Latino Community. I'm a human rights activist who shot this 6 min devastating film related to the separation of families and the unfair criminalization of undocumented immigrants. www.americannightmarefilm.com I would love for you to watch it and share it as you feel appropriate. The goal is to awaken our empathy and support good comprehensive immigration reform. Thanks so much for caring and for being such a LIGHT to this world!

Seeking LATINA Veterans/Active Duty Servicewomen for Research Study Interviews
My name is Teresa Daniell and I am currently working on my dissertation, which will focus on Latina Veterans and Latina active duty service women and how they discuss their identity. I will investigate the terms Latina veterans/servicewomen use to identify themselves and what experiences and roles helped shape their sense of identity as well as their attitudes, opinions, and beliefs about their status as Latina veterans or active duty military members. This study has been approved by the University of Maryland Baltimore County Institutional Review Board. Very little information on Latina servicewomen and veterans is available and my purpose for this study is to facilitate more awareness of this population that has historically been marginalized and largely opaque to mainstream American culture.
I am recruiting Veterans or servicewomen currently on active duty who self-identify as Latinas and who have served in any branch of the military for at least two years and are 21 years of age or older. I am asking participants to discuss their experiences in the military in face to face or Skype interviews approximately 60 to 90 minutes long. The interviews will be audio recorded, however, I will take various measures to ensure confidentiality. Only pseudonyms will be used on the transcribed data unless permission to do so is granted by you as the participant. Also, participants may request to be removed from the study during or after the interview. The interviews will take place at a date, time, and location of the participant’s convenience.
Please contact me at [email protected] if you are interested in participating in this study or for more information. I also have a blog that provides information on this study if you are interested in reviewing that at latinavets.wordpress.com.
CONGRATULATIONS.........!

https://www.gofundme.com/9347qp-oh-woma… Good Morning, I wanted to bring to your attention a University of Central Florida capstone project that was chosen to reflect the struggles of a young Latina woman in Florida in 1910. It is not a view that is often portrayed. The director has partnered with One Heart for Women and Children which is an organization that helps homeless women and children. For each $25.00 donation members of the film crew will donate an hour to help with food, hygiene supplies, education and counselling. Any help would be appreciated. Thank you!

PASOS DESTEMPLADOS
another noir fiction of Alejandro Marin
blog: cortemoslacarajo.blogspot.com

A murder that has taken place in the Argentine city of Rosario confronts Jordi Gonorria, an economist and cook and his friend Quito Verdudo, a retired police officer, with a new mystery.
The drug trafficking that has infested Rosario, the never-quite-revealed secrets of na**sm in Argentina in the late '40s and international financial fraud, will set the backdrop to, and eventually elucidate, their investigation.
On the way, they will be joined by old friends, a blend of fictional, picturesque and in-the-flesh characters who have left their footprints and the vicissitudes of the relationship between our economist and his new girlfriend.
This lithe and riveting narration is packed with culinary stories and mouthwatering recipes, insightful reflections on today's economy and situations that will not cease to surprise the reader.
