Yesterday we were informed of the passing of retired Battalion Chief Alan Skursky by the RFA. We are saddened by the loss and express our condolences to his family, friends, and coworkers. Brother Ed Mizenko, a close family friend, has requested any pictures that you have of the Chief to be gathered for the family and friends. “Update bridge collapse I-295 prior to Polk St NE. 6 patients assessed, 4 of those were transported. #DCsBravest Hazmat unit mitigating diesel fuel leak from truck that is partially beneath bridge. At least 1 other vehicle was struck by debris. Collapse blocks both directions.”
