๐Ÿš‘ Monthly Training Update ๐Ÿš‘

Our training schedule may look a little different this month! Due to our crewsโ€™ attendance at the Washington Town & Country Fair, we have just one scheduled training for the month.

This monthโ€™s training will be led by retired Washington Police Sergeant Joe Kapustka and will include both a classroom portion and a hands-on driving portion.

This is an annual training that every member of our team is required to complete each year. It focuses on safe ambulance operations and helps ensure our crews are prepared to safely transport and care for our patients while also keeping our crew members and other drivers on the road safe. ๐Ÿš‘๐Ÿ›ฃ๏ธ

At Washington Area Ambulance District, ongoing training is an important part of providing safe, high-quality care to the community we serve.

A special thank you to Joe Kapustka for sharing his knowledge and experience with our team!

๐Ÿš‘ You might notice our crews looking a little different this week! ๐Ÿš‘

As we respond to emergencies throughout the community and at the fairgrounds, our EMS personnel may be wearing high-visibility orange shirts instead of their traditional uniform tops.

Why the change? Simple, it helps us stand out in large crowds so weโ€™re easier to spot if you or someone nearby needs emergency medical assistance.

Whether youโ€™re enjoying the fair or out around town, if you need us, look for the bright orange Washington EMS shirts. Our commitment to providing fast, professional care hasnโ€™t changed, just our look!

We hope everyone has a safe and fun week at the fair! ๐ŸŽก๐Ÿ’™

Training is an essential part of being a Paramedic or EMT. It ensures our crews remain current on critical skills that may not be used every day while also helping us continue to refine and advance the lifesaving skills we rely on regularly.

The graphic below highlights the in-house training topics our crews will be participating in this month. These trainings are conducted across all shifts as part of our ongoing commitment to excellence in patient care. In addition, personnel who are not scheduled during the designated training days are encouraged to come in and participate during the scheduled training times.

We are proud to invest in continuous education and hands-on training to ensure our providers are prepared to deliver the highest level of care to the citizens we serve.
