🎄🐾 "SNUGGLE A PUPPY" for the Holidays! 🐾🎄

One of the most special things our VetPets Therapy Dog Teams do is make weekly visits to local retirement communities in the Washington, PA area. ❤️

The residents look forward to seeing our dogs each week—the cuddles, wagging tails, wet noses, and unconditional love bring so many smiles. And our dogs certainly love all the attention, too! 🐶🥰

This Christmas, we wanted to do something extra special. 🎁 Since our therapy dogs can't stay when the visit is over, we'd love to leave residents with a little puppy of their own to snuggle, hold, and think of their VetPets friends until we return. ❤️

🐾 We are collecting NEW, MEDIUM-SIZED stuffed dog/puppy animals to give to residents of The Presbyterian Home for Christmas!

You can help in two ways:

🎁 Purchase a NEW stuffed puppy and drop it in one of our collection boxes at:
🐾 Pretzels Plus
🐾 Uptown Nutrition
🐾 Soup'd Up
🐾 Washington Winery
🐾 Kirich's Tavern
🐾 VetPets Training Center — 615 E. Beau St., Washington, PA

❤️ OR make a monetary donation and we'll help purchase stuffed puppies!

Venmo: -vetpets
Please put “stuffed puppies” or "snuggle a puppy" in the memo so we know exactly where you'd like your donation to go.

And a HUGE thank you to our wonderful local small businesses for hosting collection boxes and helping us spread a little extra love this holiday season! 🎄🐾

Sometimes something as simple as a soft stuffed puppy can bring comfort, companionship, a smile, and a reminder that someone is thinking of you. Our goal is to give residents a little piece of the joy our therapy dogs bring each week—even when the dogs aren't there. ❤️

Help us fill those donation boxes and SNUGGLE A PUPPY this Christmas! 🐶🎁🎄

Please SHARE so we can collect as many new stuffed puppies as possible! 🐾❤️

🚨 ZUMBA CLASS UPDATE — PLEASE SHARE! 🚨

We have a little change of plans for our September Zumba with Sheena class. 💚🐾

Our AMAZING instructor, Sheena, has hurt her back and needs some time to rest, recover, and take care of herself. ❤️‍🩹

Because we want Sheena back feeling her best before she starts getting all of us moving again, our September Zumba class is CANCELLED.

🙏 Please join the entire VetPets family in sending Sheena lots of prayers, positive thoughts, and healing wishes for a speedy recovery! We are so grateful for everything she does for VetPets and our community.

💃🐾 THE GOOD NEWS: We plan to be back together for Zumba on Saturday, October 3!

Mark your calendars, tell your friends, and get ready to dance with us in October! 🎶🐶💃

Get well soon, Sheena! We love you and can’t wait to have you back! 💚🐾❤️

Today we honored a veteran service dog team from our past with a recertification and new vest, while also welcoming a new veteran into our wellness community to get started as an assistance dog training team!

We shared food made by Michael Alund from The Washington County Young Marines, and had music therapy while we socialized our dogs by Dan Baker Music.

Our beautiful Victory dolls wrapped boxes for our senior citizen and disabled veteran Christmas drive (more to come).

We were honored to host all of this to show ONE veteran we care. We focused on the ONE by coming together as ONE.

We are so happy to have spent the day surrounded by our VetPets family—celebrating both the incredible teams who have been part of our journey and the amazing teams serving alongside us today.

They are about halfway through donations needed to sell out once again! Get your tickets this week so you are locked in to the amazing event.

Last year, we helped family that lost a veteran to su***de by surprising her over the phone that night. (I called myself from the parking lot.)

This year, they are helping a veteran with Parkinson’s Disease, a first responder family, and raising money to get matching funds for a new van so teams can visit disabled veteran centers more often.

🐾💙 ONE NIGHT. ONE PUPPY. ONE BIG DIFFERENCE. 💙🐾

What does fostering a VetPets puppy look like?

Sometimes… it looks like a SLUMBER PARTY! 🐶🛏️💤

One of our VetPets pups recently got to spend the night with our wonderful volunteer puppy raiser Celena Gump and her therapy dog, Atlas! 🐾 We are so incredibly thankful to Celena and Atlas for opening their home for a little impromptu puppy sleepover. 💙

Our volunteers are truly the heart of VetPets. Every walk, training session, outing, cuddle…and YES, every puppy slumber party…helps us raise confident, well-socialized dogs who are preparing for a very important future. 🇺🇸🐕‍🦺

And here’s the best part:

🏠 You don’t have to commit to fostering a puppy long-term to make a difference!

We NEED more VetPets Foster Families, and your commitment can be as little as ONE SLUMBER PARTY! 🥹🐾

Maybe you can help for a night.
Maybe a weekend.
Maybe occasionally when another puppy raiser needs a break.
Or maybe you’ll discover that puppy fostering is something you absolutely LOVE! 💙

Every safe, loving home that joins our foster family network gives us more flexibility to care for, train, and raise these incredible pups as they prepare to someday make a difference in the life of a veteran, first responder, or within our community.

🐶 Have room for a puppy sleepover?

📧 Email Chris at [email protected] for more information or to request a Foster Family application!

And a HUGE THANK YOU to Celena & Atlas for showing us just how much difference one little slumber party can make! 🐾💙🇺🇸

THANK YOU, PAM!
Yesterday, we honored our amazing friend and volunteer, Pamela Jean, with a Civilian Service Coin!

A civilian service coin (often called a civilian challenge coin) is a custom medallion given to civilians to honor their work, support, or partnership with military units, government agencies, or public safety organizations. It is given to thank non-military personnel—such as contractors, volunteers, or local leaders—for exceptional help or service.

No one has provided exceptional service like Pam! One of our missions and goals as we grow at VetPets, is to "help the helpers," supporting community members who need encouragement through therapy dog programs and wellness. For the past several years, Pam has attended our Wellness sessions ("W.R.A.P"), offering FREE chair massages to folks at our Training centers (mobile and permanent) to provide physical and health therapy while also receiving mental health therapy and support at our programs. She also has a massage table stored at our facility to offer full massages at a convenient location for our volunteers and program participants.

Unless you have had a 15 minute chair massage with Pam, you cannot understand the HEALING that takes place as your body releases tension and anxiety while also being surrounded by friendship and love from others who are often going through some of the same life challenges!

Thank you, Pam, for all you do and more!
