We were pleased to participate in 'Light to Unite', an initiative launched on February 8, 2026, Scouting's Birthday, and concluding on Flag Day, June 14, 2026. This effort brings together twenty Boy Scout councils and sixty-seven PA county sheriff's offices, in a collective commitment to commemorate America's 250th anniversary. Through the display of the American flag in every county, we will celebrate the nation's enduring values of freedom, service, and civic pride. This partnership enables young individuals to exhibit leadership, patriotism, and reaffirm the principles that fortify the United States of America.
We extend our gratitude to Pack/Troop 1005 for their dedication to scouting. Additionally, we thank all the elected officials and law enforcement who took part in today's ceremony.

Sheriff Tony Andronas Announces:

On 05/26/2026, the Washington County Sheriff’s Office Fugitive Warrant Unit with the assistance of Detectives with the North Fayette Township Police Department arrested 35yr old Mason SMITH of Washington. SMITH was wanted on an outstanding Washington County Adult Probation warrant.

SMITH was also wanted on an outstanding arrest warrant out of Allegheny County on multitude of charges to include (4) felony counts stemming from a sexual assault.

Additionally, SMITH also had (2) arrest warrants out of Washington County for PFA violations which also involved the victim of the Allegheny County sexual assault case.

During a month long investigation, Deputies developed information that SMITH was staying at the Fort Pitt Motel in Oakdale, PA (North Fayette Township, Allegheny County). Deputies set up surveillance in the area and were able to positively identify SMITH and took him into custody without incident.

SMITH is being held in the Washington County Correctional Facility.

The Washington County Sheriff’s office will be closed in observance of Memorial Day on Monday, May 25th 2026. Normal Operations and office hours will resume on Tuesday May 26th.

Sheriff Andronas and his Deputies acknowledge the dedicated men and women of the United States Armed Forces who laid down their lives for their country. We are forever indebted to them for their ultimate sacrifice.

Deputy Dorcon held DARE graduation yesterday with the 5th grade students from Bethlehem-Center School District! When the students graduate, they recieve a special DARE shirt and essay winners recieve other prizes from the deputies. Yesterday Deputy Dorcon was suprised with his own gift from students for their appreciation of his hard work and dedication to the DARE program! Great work Deputy Dorcon! 👍⭐️🙌

It has come to our attention that unfortunately a resident was a victim of a scam today involving “missing jury duty“ and being in contempt of court. The resident received a phone call from a male identifying himself as a Deputy Sheriff. The resident was asked to pay fines and costs by way of bitcoin currency.
Our staff or Deputies will not request anyone to make any arrangements of payments(digital currency, cash, gift cards ) over the phone or electronically, to correct a legal matter. If you receive a phone advising you of a warrant or contempt of court concerns, please hang up immediately and contact your local police agency or county sheriffs office.

National Police Week is a time of remembrance, reflection, and gratitude for law enforcement officers who have made the ultimate sacrifice, as well as those who continue to serve.

This week reminds our communities of the loyalty, dedication and sacrifice that Law Enforcement Officers embody every day on the streets of America.

May those who paid the ultimate sacrifice live on in our hearts and we continue to honor and remember them not only this week but everyday.
