AMVETS National Commander Paul Shipley and a dozen AMVETS leaders from across the county came together at the White House Thursday as President Trump announced a new program for veterans dubbed Freedom Haulers. https://freedomhaulers.dot.gov/

The Trump administration initiative fast-tracks veterans into trucking jobs, aiming to improve highway safety and create new employment opportunities for our nation’s heroes.

Commander Shipley was at the White House with Transportation Secretary Sean Duffy, Veterans Affairs Secretary Doug Collins and trucking industry leaders.

"Freedom Haulers" streamlines the commercial driver's license (CDL) process for veterans, especially those with heavy vehicle experience gained during military service.
