Press Release – July 2026
07/04/2026 – WTPD arrested a female, age 27, of Washington Borough following a report of a dispute. At approximately 11:39 PM, patrol was dispatched to a residence in the 300 block of State Route 57 East for a report of a verbal dispute. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, it was revealed that a physical altercation had taken place, and one of the parties sustained injuries as a result of the altercation with the female. The female was taken into custody and transported to headquarters for processing, where she was charged with Simple Assault and Harassment. She was subsequently lodged at the Warren County Jail pending court proceedings.
07/06/2026 – WTPD arrested a female, age 33, of Edison, NJ in connection with a previous report of theft. In April of 2026, patrol received a complaint from a Washington Township resident regarding items taken from a stand outside of a residence. At that time, the female suspect was unable to be identified and the case was forwarded to the Detective Bureau. Further follow-up and investigation revealed the female’s identity and her involvement in the case. She was charged with Theft, which required a mandatory court appearance.
07/07/2026 – WTPD arrested a female, age 51, of Oxford Township for drug-related charges following a call for a welfare check. At approximately 11:38 AM, patrol was dispatched to a business on Clubhouse Drive in Washington Township for a report of a female slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, patrol made contact with the female, who was still sleeping in the vehicle. Through further investigation and the use of a K9, a search of the vehicle yielded narcotics and drug paraphernalia. The female was taken into custody and transported to headquarters for processing, where she was charged with Possession of Certain Prescription Drugs and Drug Paraphernalia. She was released with a mandatory court date.
07/08/2026 – WTPD arrested a female, age 38, of Washington Township for a local ordinance following a call for a welfare check. At approximately 9:34 PM, patrol was dispatched to the area of Route 31 and Route 57 for a welfare check on a female. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, patrol made contact with the female, who was drinking an alcoholic beverage and had urinated on the sidewalk. The female was issued a local ordinance summons for Possession of an Open Container and released with a mandatory court date.
07/09/2026 – WTPD arrested a female, age 48, of Washington Borough following a verbal dispute involving a weapon. At approximately 8:33 AM, patrol was dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of W. Washington Avenue in Washington Borough for a dispute involving a knife. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, it was revealed that the female engaged in a verbal argument with another party on location while in possession of a knife. The female was taken into custody and transported to headquarters for processing, where she was charged with Simple Assault and Harassment. The female was transported to Warren County Jail to await court proceedings.
07/10/2026 – WTPD arrested a male, age 30, of Washington Borough following a previous report of shoplifting. On July 6, 2026, patrol was dispatched to an establishment in the 200 block of W. Washington Avenue in Washington Borough for a report of a male party who left the store with unpaid merchandise. The male fled the area prior to patrol’s arrival and was unable to be located. On July 10, 2026, patrol was notified that the male had returned to the establishment. The male was located by patrol, taken into custody, and transported to headquarters for processing. The male was charged with Shoplifting, served with a Trespass Warning for the establishment, and released with a mandatory court date.
07/10/2026 – WTPD arrested a female, age 60, with no fixed address on an outstanding warrant. At approximately 11:02 PM, patrol was dispatched to an area in the 200 block of Changewater Road in Washington Township for a report of parties sleeping on private property. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, patrol made contact with a male and female party who advised that they were homeless and were sleeping in the area for the night. A check of the male and female’s credentials revealed that the female had an outstanding $1,000.00 warrant out of the Raritan Township Municipal Court. The female was taken into custody and transported to headquarters for processing. The female was issued a new court date to appear for her warrant and was released from headquarters.
07/12/2026 – WTPD arrested a male, age 60, of Washington Borough, for outstanding warrants and disorderly conduct-related charges. At approximately 7:35 PM, patrol was dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of W. Washington Avenue in Washington Borough for a report of an irate and disorderly male party who was outside screaming. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, it was revealed that the male party had two outstanding warrants out of the Trenton Municipal Court for $1,750.00 each. The male was taken into custody and transported to headquarters for processing, where he was issued a new court date to appear for his warrants. The male was also issued a local ordinance summons for Maintaining a Nuisance and released with a mandatory court date.
07/14/2026 – WTPD arrested a male, age 21, of Trenton, NJ for an outstanding warrant. At approximately 10:49 PM, patrol conducted a traffic stop in the 200 block of State Route 31 in Washington Township. A check of the driver’s credentials revealed that he did not possess a driver’s license and that his driving privileges were suspended. A further check revealed that the driver had an outstanding $550.00 warrant issued by the Trenton Municipal Court. The driver was taken into custody and transported to headquarters for processing, where he was issued a new court date to appear for his warrant. The driver was issued motor vehicle summonses and released with a mandatory court date.
07/15/2026 – WTPD arrested a female, age 25, of Franklin Township (Warren County) for disorderly conduct-related charges. At approximately 9:22 AM, patrol was dispatched to a business in the 300 block of W. Washington Avenue in Washington Township for a report of a disorderly female who was yelling profanities at customers. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, it was revealed that the female was threatening to shoplift an item and was yelling profanities inside the store. The female was served with a Trespass Warning and was transported by patrol to a residence where she was staying. While leaving that location, the female again became disorderly and began walking in the roadway, obstructing traffic on State Route 31. After refusing several times to walk out of the roadway herself, the female was taken into custody and transported to headquarters for processing. The female was charged with Obstructing Highways, Disorderly Conduct, and Maintaining a Nuisance. She was released with a mandatory court date.
07/16/2026 – WTPD arrested a male, age 36, of South Amboy, NJ following a report of an assault. At approximately 9:33 AM, patrol was dispatched to a residence in the 0 block of W. Warren Street in Washington Borough for a report of a physical dispute. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, it was revealed that a male party on location engaged in a physical altercation, causing injuries to the victim. The male was charged with Simple Assault, Disorderly Conduct, and Maintaining a Nuisance. He was processed on scene and released with a mandatory court date.
07/18/2026 – WTPD arrested a male, age 36, of Washington Borough for misuse of the 9-1-1 system. At approximately 9:02 AM, patrol was dispatched to a residence in the 0 block of Flower Avenue in Washington Borough for a report of a male who accidentally dialed 9-1-1. Over the past several weeks, patrol had responded to a large number of 9-1-1 hang-ups and misuses by the same male party. The male was issued a summons for Maintaining a Nuisance and released with a mandatory court date.
07/18/2026 – WTPD arrested a female, age 74, of Hamilton, NJ and a female, age 48, of Lawrenceville, NJ on shoplifting charges. At approximately 11:35 AM, patrol was dispatched to a business on Clubhouse Drive in Washington Township for a reported shoplifting in progress. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, the females were located and placed in custody. At headquarters, the females were each processed and charged with one count of Shoplifting. They were also served with Trespass Warnings, barring them from returning to the property. The females were released with mandatory court dates.
07/20/2026 – WTPD arrested a male, age 44, of Washington Borough after providing law enforcement with false information. At approximately 10:06 AM, patrol observed a vehicle parked in an area where parking was prohibited in the 100 block of W. Washington Avenue in Washington Borough. Upon making contact with the operator of the vehicle, he provided false identification to the officer. A further investigation revealed the male’s actual identity, which resulted in him being charged with Obstruction and the issuance of several motor vehicle summonses. He was released with a mandatory court date.
07/21/2026 – WTPD arrested a female, age 37, and a female, age 31, both of Washington Borough following a physical altercation. At approximately 10:38 PM, patrol was dispatched to an area in the 0 block of W. Washington Avenue in Washington Borough for a report of a group physically assaulting a female. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, patrol located two females who were actively fighting. The females were separated without incident and processed on scene. The 37-year-old was charged with Simple Assault and Maintaining a Nuisance and was released with a mandatory court date. The 31-year-old was charged with Simple Assault and also released with a mandatory court date.
07/22/2026 – WTPD arrested a male, age 26, of Bloomsbury, NJ following a report of shoplifting. At approximately 6:07 PM, patrol was dispatched to a business on Clubhouse Drive in Washington Township for a report of shoplifting in progress. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, patrol was advised that the male in question was exiting the store with unpaid items in his possession. Patrol made contact with the male, who was taken into custody without incident and transported to headquarters for processing, where he was charged with Shoplifting. The male was also served with a Trespass Warning, barring him from returning to the property. He was released with a mandatory court date.
07/25/2026 – WTPD arrested a male, age 29, and a female, age 24, both of Hackettstown, NJ following a report of shoplifting. At approximately 1:07 PM, patrol was dispatched to a business on Clubhouse Drive in Washington Township for a report of two individuals who were stopped by security for suspected shoplifting. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, it was confirmed that the individuals had left the store with unpaid items in their possession. The male and female were both taken into custody and transported to headquarters for processing. The male and female were both charged with Shoplifting and served with Trespass Warnings, barring them from returning to the store. They were released with mandatory court dates.
07/25/2026 – WTPD arrested a male, age 36, of Washington Borough for assault-related charges. At approximately 5:06 PM, patrol was dispatched to a residence in the 0 block of Flower Avenue in Washington Borough for a report of an assault. Further, patrol was advised that the male in question fled out of the residence. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, patrol located the male in the area and the victims inside the residence. It was revealed that the male engaged in a physical altercation with the victims and caused injuries. The male was taken into custody and transported to headquarters for processing, where he was charged with Simple Assault and two counts of Aggravated Assault. He was lodged at the Warren County Jail pending court proceedings.
07/25/2026 – WTPD arrested a male, age 46, of Washington Borough following a report of an assault. At approximately 8:01 PM, patrol was dispatched to a residence in the 0 block of W. Stewart Street in Washington Borough for a report of a physical altercation. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, it was revealed that the male struck the victim during a verbal dispute, causing injuries. The male was taken into custody and transported to headquarters for processing, where he was charged with Simple Assault and Harassment. He was lodged at the Warren County Jail pending court proceedings.
07/25/2026 – WTPD arrested a male, age 46, of Washington Township following a motor vehicle crash in Oxford Township. At approximately 8:14 PM, patrol was dispatched to Pequest Road for a report of a motor vehicle crash involving three vehicles. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, it was revealed that one of the drivers involved was exhibiting signs of impairment. The driver was charged with DWI and issued several motor vehicle summonses relating to the crash. He was released with a mandatory court date to a family member.
07/27/2026 – WTPD arrested a male, age 60, of Washington Borough for disorderly conduct charges. At approximately 8:09 PM, patrol was dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of W. Washington Avenue in Washington Borough for a report of a male yelling obscenities outside of his residence. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, patrol located and identified the male. He was issued summonses for Disorderly Conduct, Harassment, and Maintaining a Nuisance, which required a mandatory court appearance.
07/27/2026 – WTPD arrested a female, age 40, of Washington Borough following a report of an assault. At approximately 10:33 PM, patrol was dispatched to a residence in the 0 block of W. Washington Avenue in Washington Borough for a report of an assault victim. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, it was revealed that the female assaulted the victim while engaged in a verbal argument. The female was charged with Simple Assault and Maintaining a Nuisance. She was released with a mandatory court date.
07/28/2026 – WTPD arrested a male, age 60, of Washington Borough for threats and weapons charges. At approximately 6:57 PM, patrol was dispatched to a residence in the 100 block of W. Washington Avenue in Washington Borough for a report of an individual screaming and yelling inside of his residence. Upon arrival, patrol made contact with the male, who was uncooperative. While speaking with the male, he confronted officers with a knife and refused to drop the weapon despite several commands to do so. An officer on scene utilized a Conducted Energy Device (CED), deploying the device on the male and allowing officers to safely disarm him and place him in custody. After receiving medical attention, the male was charged with Possession of a Weapon for an Unlawful Purpose, Terroristic Threats, and Disorderly Conduct. He was subsequently lodged at the Warren County Jail pending court proceedings.
07/30/2026 – WTPD arrested a male, age 81, of Hampton, NJ following a report of shoplifting. At approximately 2:03 PM, patrol was dispatched to a business on Clubhouse Drive in Washington Township for a report of shoplifting that occurred earlier in the day. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, the male involved was identified and located by patrol. The male was escorted to headquarters, where he was processed and charged with Shoplifting. He was released with a mandatory court date.
07/31/2026 – WTPD arrested a female, age 79, of Washington Borough following a previous report of shoplifting. On July 17, 2026, at approximately 6:08 PM, patrol was dispatched to a business on Clubhouse Drive in Washington Township for a report of shoplifting. Upon arrival and subsequent investigation, it was revealed that the female in question would be served with a Trespass Warning, prohibiting her from returning to the property. Through further follow-up and investigation, the female responded to headquarters on July 31 for processing, where she was charged with Shoplifting. She was released with a mandatory court date.
