When a child goes missing, every second counts. The AMBER Alert plan exists to turn our communities into a network of eyes and ears, working together to bring abducted children home safely.
If circumstances do not meet AMBER Alert criteria, state and local agencies still work together to locate the child.
Remember: There is no waiting period for a missing person report to be filed.

Wednesday’s severe weather threat has increased across Eastern Iowa and Western Illinois.

Most of my coverage area is now under a Level 3 risk, indicating a greater potential for severe thunderstorms across the region. While details will continue to be refined over the 48 hours, confidence is increasing that conditions may support a more active severe weather event.

All hazards will need to be monitored closely, including damaging winds, large hail, heavy rainfall, and the potential for isolated tornadoes.

We also got to deal with much hotter conditions and with heat and a trough to move into the region with already a moisture atmosphere and this would include flash flooding.

I will keep you all updated, keep checking back for the latest.

The chances for rain have increased tonight just as I mentioned earlier, and we are now up to a 90% chance of rain across the region.

A 90% chance of rain does not necessarily mean it will rain 90% of the time, but it does indicate very high confidence that most, if not all, of the coverage area will receive measurable rainfall tonight.

At this point, widespread showers and thunderstorms are expected, with rain becoming much more common across eastern Iowa and western Illinois compared to previous chances when activity was more isolated and scattered.

Heavy rainfall will remain possible in some locations, and I will continue monitoring radar trends throughout the evening and overnight hours.

Keep it with MIWS for the latest updates.
