(WDAC) is an independent non-profit corporation serving as the Single County Authority (SCA) for Washington County. The SCA provides drug and alcohol intervention, prevention and treatment services to residents of Washington County through careful management of government funding. W

DAC is located in the center of the city of Washington at 90 W. Chestnut Street on the 3rd Floor of the Millcraft Center. WDAC houses an administrative, fiscal, prevention, and case managment (treatment) unit. The WDAC Case Management Unit provides screening, assessments, and case management services to clients who are seeking treatment for problems related to alcohol or other drug use. There is an integrated system of care available for Washington County residents seeking both a mental health and drug and alcohol treatment. WDAC collaborates with Washington County Mental Health/Mental Retardation in the management of the treatment for Co-occurring Disorders (COD)/complex clients . WDAC is also represented by a case manager on the planning and clinical teams for the Restrictive Treatment Program (RTP). This program brings the full weight of the criminal justice and the components of treatment to bear, forcing the offender to deal with his or her substance abuse problems. The program additionally affords the offender the opportunity to receive an abundance of treatment services, job training, education, and allows for restorative procedures such as community service to make the offender and community whole again. A Certified Recovery Specialist (CRS) works closely with the Case Management Staff at the Washington Drug and Alcohol Commission to assist people throughout the recovery process. CRS services are appropriate prior to treatment episodes, during treatment, and post treatment for those who may benefit from having the additional, peer support of a professional recovery specialist. CRS services are voluntary and are free of charge to adults living in Washington County. WDAC provides prevention programs throughout Washington County. Services are provided by the Washington Drug and Alcohol Commission, Inc. Prevention Department and one contracted provider. Free drug educational programs are provided to fifteen schools districts, along with free community programming throughout the county. The programs focus on drug, alcohol and tobacco , decision making, anger management, bullying, gambling addiction and self esteem. These programs are provided for all age groups from pre-school aged to senior citizens.

🌟 Staff Spotlight: Brandi Nutter, Justice-Involved Case Manager 🌟

Brandi has served as a Justice-Involved Case Management Specialist at Washington Drug & Alcohol Commission since 2023. Her path to this work has been shaped by both academic learning and personal experiences with recovery and behavioral health, which guide her compassionate, empathetic approach every day.

One of the most meaningful parts of Brandi’s role is watching individuals grow throughout their time in treatment court. From the early days when things feel uncertain to the moments when confidence, stability, and self-trust begin to take shape, Brandi finds purpose in walking alongside people as they rebuild their lives. She strives to ensure the individuals she works with never feel judged or alone and always know someone believes in their potential.

Brandi values WDAC for the opportunity to form real, impactful relationships and to be actively involved in the lives of those we serve. Outside of work, she enjoys taking walks with her son and teaching him new things, moments that remind her of the importance of patience, growth, and staying present. 💜

We’re grateful for Brandi’s dedication, compassion, and commitment to helping others find hope and stability.
