⚠️ POWER OUTAGE UPDATE – WASHINGTON CITY / WASHINGTON COUNTY ⚠️

Washington City is aware of the widespread power outages currently affecting our area.

Power providers county wide are aware of and working on the county-wide power outage caused by an issue with the transmission system.

Please do not call 911 to report a power outage. Only call 911 if you are experiencing an actual emergency. Unnecessary calls can tie up emergency resources that may be needed elsewhere.

Residents are encouraged to stay home and avoid unnecessary travel until power is restored.

🚦 If you encounter a traffic signal that is not working, treat the intersection as a four-way stop. Please use extra caution, slow down, and watch carefully for other vehicles and pedestrians.

Utility crews are actively investigating and working to restore service. We will continue to provide updates as additional information becomes available.

☀️ Conservation Reminder: Use Less, Save More ⚡

With mid-summer heat increasing regional electricity demand, we’re asking residents to help conserve energy during peak hours.

🕒 Please reduce electricity use between 3:00 p.m. and 8:00 p.m. whenever possible.

A few simple ways to help:

🌡️ Set your thermostat a couple of degrees higher.
🍽️ Avoid using ovens and dishwashers during peak hours.
🧺 Delay laundry and other high-energy household tasks until later in the evening.
🚪 Keep exterior doors closed to help your home stay cool.

Small changes during the hottest part of the day can make a meaningful difference by reducing strain on the Washington County power system and helping maintain reliable service throughout our community.

🎉 Happy Pioneer Day, Washington City residents! 🎉
Please note that Washington City offices are closed today in observance of Pioneer Day. For assistance, please call our on-call personnel at 435-656-6300 and follow the automated prompts.
The parade begins at 8:00 a.m. on Telegraph Street. Afterward, enjoy free patriotic entertainment at Heritage Hall, featuring talented local musicians and singers, followed by activities at Veterans Park. The celebration will conclude with a spectacular fireworks display at 10:00 p.m.
Bring your neighbors, friends, and family. Everyone is welcome!

Join Washington City leadership and staff for a day full of fun as we honor the patriots who founded our country 250 years ago and the pioneers who settled our great state in the mid 1800's! Washington City was built on a foundation of faith, family, and freedom and this Friday is a great opportunity to celebrate these timeless values! After the parade, be sure to enjoy free patriotic entertainment in Heritage Hall where local musicians and singers are slated to WOW us with their talent! Bring your neighbors, friends, and families. Attention:

The Leisure Pool at the Washington City Community Center is closing on July 18th for extensive repairs, upgrades, and improvements. The leisure pool is anticipated to reopen by the 17th of August.

The lap pool will remain open during this time! Please check online for the most updated lap lane schedule.

Independence Day may have come and gone, but the celebration of America250 continues in Washington City! Join Washington City leadership and staff as they celebrate Pioneer Day on July 24th! Activities will include a parade, festivities in Veterans Park, patriotic programming in Heritage Hall, and a fireworks show at the Community Center. Mark your calendars and prepare to take part in this exciting annual hometown tradition! All are welcome!
