Good afternoon, we wanted to update everyone on the Central Park restroom project and some upcoming construction timelines. We had a pre-construction meeting today with our contractor Christner Construction from Ottumwa. They are very eager to get going on the project to meet our Spring – May 23, 2025 completion date.

The contractor will be installing the security/work fence around the project site Tomorrow November 14. With demolition of the current building slated for November 18. This means as of tomorrow there will be no public restrooms at Central Park until the project is complete in May 2025.

Below is a rendering of the completed project to give us something to look forward to and will be a great addition to Central Park and Downtown.

We’ve made a lot of progress since the early planning stages of the Wellness Park to where we are now adding another concession stand /restroom near the soccer fields. Hopefully we can continue to add amenities to this wonderful Park in the future.
