🏆 Congratulations to Andy Newby! 🏆

Washington Public Schools is proud to congratulate Athletic Director Andy Newby on being named the Oklahoma Interscholastic Athletic Administrators Association 4A/3A Athletic Director of the Year!

This prestigious award recognizes athletic directors who demonstrate outstanding leadership, service, professionalism, and dedication to the student-athletes, coaches, and communities they serve.

Anyone who has worked with Andy knows this honor is well deserved. While championships and trophies may be what people see, the countless hours spent scheduling events, supporting coaches, advocating for student-athletes, coordinating facilities, and ensuring our programs operate at a high level often happen behind the scenes.

Andy is a tireless supporter of Washington Public Schools and advocates for providing opportunities for our students to compete, grow, and represent our school with pride. His leadership has helped continue the tradition and culture of excellence that extends far beyond the scoreboard.

Please join us in congratulating Andy Newby on this well-earned recognition!

Washington High School is proud to recognize three outstanding incoming seniors for representing our school at two of Oklahoma’s premier leadership programs this summer.

Our congratulations go to Stevie Haynes and Emma Plank, who attended Oklahoma Girls State from May 24–29. Sponsored by the American Legion Auxiliary, Girls State brings together approximately 300 young women from across Oklahoma to participate in a mock government experience where they serve in local, district, and state leadership roles.

Stevie had an exceptional week, winning her election and earning a seat in the House of Representatives. Emma was selected to serve as a Supreme Court Justice, a prestigious honor that reflects her leadership, character, and dedication.

We also congratulate Luke Hager, who attended Oklahoma Boys State at Rogers State University in Claremore from May 23–30. Nearly 500 Oklahoma boys who had just completed their junior year participated in this immersive leadership experience. Throughout the week, students had the opportunity to hear from and interact with state leaders, including Kevin Stitt, T. W. Shannon, and James Lankford.

Adding to the Washington connection, the director who oversaw the entire Boys State program was Washington’s own Corey Brooks, a proud WHS graduate.

We are incredibly proud of Stevie, Emma, and Luke for representing Washington High School with excellence. These experiences provide valuable opportunities to develop leadership skills, learn about government and public service, and build relationships with some of Oklahoma’s brightest young leaders. Congratulations on a job well done, and we look forward to seeing the impact each of you will continue to make as seniors this fall!

Congratulations to our Kindergarten Graduates! ❤️🖤

Today, Washington’s littlest Warriors made us incredibly proud as they celebrated a huge milestone. It is amazing to think about how much these students have grown in just one school year.

This year, they learned so much more than just letters and numbers. They learned how to read, write, count, problem solve, make friends, work together, and become more independent each and every day. They learned classroom routines, built confidence, showed kindness, and discovered just how capable they truly are.

Watching their growth from the first day of school to now has been something special. We are so proud of all they have accomplished and cannot wait to see the amazing things they will continue to do!

Way to go, Kindergarten Warriors!

Washington Public Schools would like to give a huge thank you to Blythe and Casey Wilson at Althea's Vault for the kindness, patience, and encouragement they have shown one of our favorite Warriors throughout this school year.

The opportunities and experiences you provided helped him learn so many new skills, including decorating cookies, making lemonade, and making cake icing. Even more importantly, you helped him continue building confidence and social skills while helping with school deliveries.

We are so thankful for the way you welcomed, encouraged, and invested in him this year. Your support and willingness to go above and beyond truly made a difference, and it has not gone unnoticed.

Thank you for being such a wonderful example of community support and for helping create meaningful experiences and lasting memories. We are incredibly grateful for all you have done this year.
