With track season coming to a close we are pleased with this year's progress and performances and excited for the future of Tiger track. There were a lot of pr's significantly improved over the season due to hard work and dedication by the athletes. We lose 6 seniors to graduation. Layla worked hard this season on her hurdle technique and competed very well, she even tried pole vault and one meet and did well. Brody put in a lot of miles this year and was consistent in the 1600 and tried the 800 and ran a solid 800 as well. Lucas was focused this year and really improved his 800 time as well as improving his long jump distance. Tucker was solid in the sprints and helped the 4x1 improve its time during the season as well. Alyssa really came on the last two years and was a force to be reconned with!! She steadily improved both of her sprints as the season progressed and ended just 1/2" from breaking the school record in the long jump. She was also a big part of the 4x1 that broke the school record. Alyssa ended the season with a heartbreaking hamstring injury at regionals. She rehabbed all week before state and was able to compete at state, but only at 75%. Excited to see what she can do for Cloud County Thunderbirds next year. Gavyn also put in a lot of hard work this season, especially in javelin. He worked really hard on his javelin technique and it showed. Gavyn improved his pr significantly and had the number two javelin throw in 2A!! The leadership of these seniors will be missed. Alyssa and Gavyn represented WCHS well at state.
