🌟Staff Highlight🌟
Two years ago, Jaclyn joined the Skylands team. She is a support coordinator in Bergen, Passaic, Sussex and Morris Counties. Jaclyn builds relationships with her families by focusing on trust. She says, “I take the time to listen without judgment and meet each family where they are. I try to understand their individual strengths, challenges, culture, and needs rather than making assumptions. I’m consistent, honest, and approachable, which helps families feel comfortable opening up to me.” Other ways she builds trust are ensuring the family is part of the decision-making process and starting every conversation with empathy. All of this culminates into Jaclyn’s favorite part of her career: making a meaningful difference in people's lives. She states, “It’s rewarding to see someone make progress, gain confidence, or simply know that they have someone in their corner. Knowing that the work I do can positively impact someone’s life is what makes the job so fulfilling to me.” Another aspect of her career that makes Jaclyn happy is the recent Skylands Summer! Jaclyn says it was great for Skylands families and our team to celebrate and come together.
Other ways Jaclyn enjoys her time include being with her family, going to the beach, spending time outside, and reading. She also likes to watch movies, particularly comedy, action, horror, and thriller genres. Jaclyn enjoys reading thrillers too. Additionally, she enjoys exploring New Jersey with her family. A few of her favorite spots are Crystal Springs, the Jersey Shore, local farms, and her town’s farmers’ market. She is new to Sussex County, so Jaclyn is always in search of great local places!
