Buddies Not Bullies Buddies Not Bullies: Building Healthy and Respectful Relationships Empowering this group of kids reduces secondary traumas associated with guilt and fear.

Buddies Not Bullies’ gives children and adults the language and tools to identify and combat the detrimental effects of bullying. Prevention reduces the risks of depression and self-injury for kids who are the targets of bullying because they learn how to identify what is happening to them as well as how to effectively respond and ask for help when necessary. We help kids who engage in bullying be

haviors as well, by challenging attitudes and teaching the skills necessary to have healthy relationships and become positive leaders instead of traveling further down the road of abusiveness and antisocial behaviors. A large part of our prevention efforts focuses on the bystander – children who witness bullying but do nothing to help. Bystanders are a remarkable bunch, and given the instruments to make a difference, they are capable and motivated to build communities and cultures that value helping behaviors.

We'd like to share an update about our upcoming Bingo event.

After stepping back and carefully reviewing where things stood, we made the decision not to move forward with the event. It became clear the event wasn’t going to come together as planned or in a way that would have delivered the experience we were aiming for.

All ticket purchases have been fully refunded.

We have been in contact with the generous businesses and community members who supported this event and are working directly with each of them to ensure everything is handled appropriately.

We are incredibly grateful for the support from our community and look forward to connecting with you at a future event.

Lisa Bell was recently featured by Voyage STL, where she shared her experiences as a psychologist and the foundations of Buddies Not Bullies.

The work is grounded in years of clinical practice and a consistent observation: children are often expected to manage complex skills, such as communication, conflict resolution, and emotional regulation, without ever being taught directly how to do so.

Buddies Not Bullies was built to address that gap.

We are grateful to have this work rooted in our community and appreciate the opportunity to share it more broadly.
