Washington Missouri Parks Welcome to the City of Washington Parks and Recreation Department page. As you navigate through our page, you will see that our parks system has much to offer.

Washington MO Parks & Recreation Department offers facility & pavilion rentals, youth & adult programming, tennis & pickleball courts, outdoor pool, splash pad, nature reserve, lake, riverfront park, dog park, disc golf course, skate park and trails. Washington is home to 550 total park acres, divided amongst 11 parks. Throughout these 550 acres you will find numerous opportunities for recreation

and fun, no matter what your interests may be. We have something for everyone! Our Department strives to provide the highest quality leisure experiences for each and every person in our community. This is based on our mission statement: “To always provide the highest quality system of park facilities and recreation activities as mandated by the community through participatory and financial support.”

Our staff always loves to hear what your thoughts are on what we are doing. Please feel free to contact any member of our staff with your ideas and comments. The City of Washington Parks Department looks forward to seeing you, your friends, and family at one of our parks in the near future.

A big thank you to our VIPs for spending time today doing general maintenance on the beautiful flower beds around City Hall, the Library, and the Public Safety Complex! From weeding and removing debris to pruning and freshening up the landscape, your hard work helps keep our City looking its very best.

Just a friendly reminder to all Summer Camp Session 1 families — camp starts THIS MONDAY, June 1st! ☀️😎

Our staff is excited and ready for an action-packed summer filled with fun, games, crafts, outdoor adventures, and new friendships! 🏃‍♀️🎨🌳💦

Parents & guardians, please make sure your camper is ready for a great first day by:
✅ Bringing a water bottle
✅ Wearing comfortable clothes & tennis shoes
✅ Applying sunscreen before arrival
✅ Bringing any required camp items

Participants will learn:
🏊 Lifeguarding skills

The pool will be CLOSED if we have:

💨 Heavy wind
⛈️ Thunder
⚡ Lightning

Basically, if the weather starts giving “storm chaser documentary” instead of “perfect pool day,” we’ll be taking a rain check. 😂

A huge THANK YOU to the amazing students at Washington High School for growing the beautiful annual flowers that are now brightening landscaping beds all across our city! 🌸🌿

This community beautification effort was made possible through the generosity of Suntory Flowers, who donated the seeds, the dedication of our Washington High School students who nurtured them, and the hard work of our VIPs (Volunteers In the Parks) who planted them citywide.

Together, these partnerships are helping make the City of Washington even more beautiful for residents and visitors alike. 💐

🌸🌿 BIG shout out to our amazing V.I.P.s — Volunteers In the Parks! 🌿🌸

Yesterday was the perfect day to dig in, plant some color, and make Washington bloom! Our awesome V.I.P.’ers started at the Welcome to Washington sign, planting flowers that will continue to spread and grow all season long. Then the crew split up to give Optimists Park, Krog Park, the library, and City Park a fresh pop of color and community pride! 🌼☀️
