Non Profit Organization Washington Lions Club was chartered August 28, 1939. With Dr. Robert F.

The Washington Lions Club currently has 181 members who live and work in the Washington area. Zoellner serving as the Club's first president. Washington Lions is a family with several father and son/grandson, husband and wife, brothers, in-laws and other relatives all joining as members. The Club has members active in the Zone, District and State Lion organizations. Lion Missy Maune is a Past Dis

trict Governor and currently serves as Missouri Lions State Global Membership Chair. Other Club members are serving the district: Lion Dennis Hemsath serves on the District Eye Care Committee and functions as District Treasurer; Lion Leon Hove serves as District Governor and Treasurer of the District Eye Foundation.. Lion Hove is also treasurer of the Missouri Lions Eye Mission Foundation. Lion Vickey Engel is District Global Membership chair. Washington Lions continues to support the community with past projects including Lions Lake, the Riverfront flag plaza, Riverfront pavilions and bar-b-q pit along with improvements to pavilions surrounding Lions Lake. The fair ground stage was also one of the Lions contributions to the community. Lions can be seen at most fairs and festivals cooking their famous pork burgers raising funds to support their efforts to server those less fortunate.
