What an incredible day for the 6th Annual Battle of the Badges Charity Softball Game! ⚾️

We want to extend a HUGE thank you to everyone who donated, volunteered, sponsored, helped organize, attended, cheered us on, or contributed in any way to making this event such a success.

From the businesses, and organizations that donated, to all of the people who gave their time and generosity — this event truly took a community effort.

Most importantly, your support helped us come together for a great cause and show how a entire community can stand together.

We are incredibly grateful for everyone who helped make this day possible.

25th Anniversary 9/11 Memorial Service

The South Strabane Township Police and Fire Departments invite you to join us in remembering the lives lost during the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Friday, September 11, 2026
8:45 a.m. — Service begins promptly

Due to construction at the South Strabane Township 9/11 Memorial Site, this year’s service will be held at Tanger Outlets.

All first responders and citizens are welcome to attend.

Paving on Quarry Road has been delayed due to utility work being performed by a utility company, which requires boring beneath the roadway.

Once the utility work is completed, the final surface course (top coat) will be applied. This work is currently anticipated to take place next week, weather and site conditions permitting.

We appreciate everyone’s patience and understanding as this work is completed.

Road Work Update – Quarry Road, Emerald Drive & Stonehenge Drive

South Strabane Public Works crews are working to complete necessary repairs in preparation for final paving.

Final paving is scheduled to begin the week of August 17th.

We ask that residents and motorists please be patient while this work is completed. There may be temporary delays and travel disruptions during the construction process, but we appreciate everyone's cooperation as we work to improve these roads.

Notification to South Strabane Township Residents:
The Department of Public Works will be Milling this week starting on Wednesday August 5th, on the following roads: Quarry Road, Emerald Dr., and Stonehenge Dr.
These roads will remain open while work is in progress, but there may be some travel delays. Paving is to follow, and will be announced prior to staring. If you have any questions please feel free to reach out to the township office, between 8am and 4:30pm, at (724)225-9055.

**ACTIVE INCIDENT - NORTH MAIN ST**

*Update @12:15pm - the gas leak has been secured on North Main; Columbia gas remains on scene and N. Main will remain closed until further notice*

South Strabane Fire crews are currently on scene of an active natural gas leak on North Main Street in the area of Crile Road. Construction crews that were working in the area struck a 6" gas main and Columbia Gas of Pennsylvania is now on scene working to stop the leak. Several residents have been evacuated from their homes as a precaution.

Crews from South Strabane fire and Canton Township Fire & Rescue will remain on scene until cleared by Columbia Gas. Please avoid the area.

⚾ Battle of the Badges is back! 🚔🚒

Join us on Sunday, August 30th at 1:00 PM at South Strabane Community Park as the South Strabane Police Department takes on South Strabane Fire & Emergency Services in this year's Battle of the Badges charity softball game.

This year's event benefits 11-year-old Michael Toth, who is courageously battling leukemia. Come enjoy an afternoon of friendly competition, great food, music, and family fun while supporting a local family. ❤️

Cooling Center Open at South Strabane Township

Due to the extreme heat, the South Strabane Township Municipal Building Meeting Room will be open as a Cooling Center today, Wednesday, July 1, and tomorrow, Thursday, July 2, from 9:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.

Residents are welcome to stop in to cool off, rest, and escape the heat during these hours. Water will be available.
