Yesterday evening at 7:17PM, your WVFD responded to a reported vehicle fire at the cross of FM 1155 & FM 1370.

Crews arrived on scene to find a tractor fully involved and quickly extinguished the fire. Thankfully, we were able to save the shredder.

Thank you to Meyersville Volunteer Fire Department and EMS for their assistance. Meyersville was cancelled en route but offered coverage for our station while our team worked the fire.

Thank you to Washington Scrap Metal for assisting the WVFD with our most recent training! Their support enabled our firefighters to practice vehicle extrication techniques.

Refining skills in every area of our emergency response is critical to our mission, so we are very grateful to have the opportunity to work with them!

Thank you to Chief Casada for his work which enabled the WVFD to receive a training grant from the Texas Forest Service! Purchasing a larger monitor for our meeting room will allow instructors to more easily use visual aids in the classroom.

We want to give a huge THANK YOU to everyone who helped keep our department stocked with water.

Many thanks to professional driver Joe Williams for helping coordinate the delivery with the amazing staff at Sealy 7036 for another generous donation of water. We also want to give a special shout out to DDM for using their forklift to help unload the trailer. Also, thank you to professional driver Chief Hamff for personally delivering the pallet of water to our station.

We truly appreciate the continued support from our community and local businesses!

A special THANK YOU! To Germania Insurance in Brenham for donating a commercial ice maker to our department. Not only did they give us one but gave one to Meyersville VFD and Salem VFD as well! We really appreciate your support!

The Washington Volunteer Fire Department is seeking a donation of a gas grill and an ice maker for department use. During community events and multi-department training, we provide drinks and meals for the public and other firefighters, and this would be a great support to those efforts.

If you have one available and are able to help, please reach out. We greatly appreciate the continued support from our community.

Thank you to everyone who participated in yesterday’s S130-S190 (Intro to Wildland Fire Behavior) Field Day, held at WVFD Station 2. Firefighters learned about ignition and hand tools, deployment of emergency shelters, effectively digging a hand line, and so much more.
