There has been some misunderstanding regarding the petition that was filed on my behalf. Being that the voting margin differed by less than 1% leaving little room for error, any candidate should be able to verify the results. I would expect my opponent to do the same if it were the other way around and would agree it’s the right thing to do. If this was a larger election the process of a recount would be automatic, but in our local case you have to file a petition for review. Multiple polls had machine counts that did not equal the manual count and abnormal voting trends that did not match historical data. This is not a lawsuit or a list of people that wish to remove my opponent from his position. This petition simply gives the opportunity to the review process. Regardless of the judges decision or findings, I believe Washington had two strong candidates with the city’s best interest at heart.

I can’t thank everyone enough for the prayers, love, and support throughout my campaign. The plan and the momentum we have doesn’t change. We will continue to move Washington forward every way possible to its brightest days ahead. As they say, the show must go on!
