The Bank of Franklin County of Franklin County received a matching grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank to help fund tiny houses at the Veterans Way Community in Union. The bank donated the money to the American Legion Post 218 Family which donated it and more to the Veterans Way Community. Money from the American Legion Auxiliary’s Poppy Funds and a donation from the Sons of the American Legion were added.

Auxiliary Unit 218 President Megan Fowler is in front with a check to the Veterans Way Community for $13,750. Post 218 Commander Jim McNeive holds the Bank of Franklin County check for $10,000.

A Veterans Dinner will be held Saturday, Sept. 5, at 785 Butterfield Dr., the location of the Franklin County Baptist Association and the Community Church. That is just off Highway 47 on the east side of the road between Midlawn Funeral Home and John's Flooring. Details on the flyer. Veterans may bring their spouses.

The Veterans Way Community will give a presentation on its progress.

The Bank of Franklin County recently presented a $10,000 check to American Legion Post 218. The donation was the result of a 3x matching grant from the Federal Home Loan Bank. Post 218 will donate the money to the Veterans Way Community (tiny house) in Union.
