Sometimes standing strong is a little easier when you have someone in your corner. 💙

Each month, we recognize one student from each grade level who has shown strength, perseverance, and determination. Our Forever Standing Strong students also get the opportunity to recognize a Difference Maker — someone who has encouraged, supported, or made a positive impact on them along the way. 💛

💙💛 Wellness Spotlight: Our Tigers Have Something to Say! 💭

Need a little motivation today? Our Tigers might have exactly what you need!

Our students have been sharing their own wellness tips, and we couldn’t keep this wisdom to ourselves! From staying positive and chasing goals to taking care of yourself and showing kindness to others, our Tigers had plenty to say. 💙

A special shoutout to Dr. Berry & Mrs. Stratton’s class, who put their wellness wisdom on sticky notes and joined in on the fun! 💛

🥨📚 Pretzels & Progress was a success!

We served up progress reports and a look at student academic progress… with a side of pretzels, of course!

Our families stopped by to chat with teachers, ask questions, and see how their Tigers are doing so far this year.

A big thank you to all of our parents and guardians who came out! We loved having you and appreciate you partnering with us to keep our Tigers moving forward. 💙💛

Washington-Wilkes Middle School progress reports were sent home today. Parents please review, sign, and have your student return their progress reports tomorrow.

Progress Reports are also available via Infinite Campus Parent or Student Portals. To access grades for the grading period, log into Infinite Campus Parent portal or Infinite Campus Student portal, Select Documents, then click the name of the progress/report card (Q1 Progress Report ).

We have had a great first month of the 2026-2027 school year! Wilkes County Schools will be closed on Monday, September 7th, for Labor Day. We look forward to seeing everyone back on Tuesday, September 8th!

💙Wellness Wednesday at WWMS! 💛

Today, our Tigers focused on dreaming big, connecting with others, and setting goals for the year ahead! 🌟

Students participated in a Dream Walk, where they walked with a partner and talked about something they hope to accomplish this year.

Our teachers also led students through a 7 Mindsets lesson focused on "Everything Is Possible", encouraging students to dream big and believe in what they can accomplish.

We’re also excited to share some of our Wellness Spotlights, featuring words of encouragement and wellness tips from our students and families!💙

✨And there’s more to come! Keep an eye out for more Wellness Spotlights as we continue sharing encouragement from our WWMS community.

💙🐯 A Great Night of Connection at WWMS! 🐯💛

We had a wonderful evening bringing our WWMS families, staff, and community together! ✨

We began the night with our Annual Title I Meeting, where families learned more about school initiatives, important Title I information, and ways parents and families can support our students, teachers, and school throughout the year.

Following the meeting, we continued the evening with Connect for Success! Families had the opportunity to connect with our community partners, learn about services and opportunities available to support students and families, and meet some of the people within our school and community who are here to help.

A huge THANK YOU to everyone who made the evening possible! 💙💛

It was a great night filled with information, resources, food, fellowship, and meaningful connections. We loved seeing our school and community come together with one shared goal: helping our students succeed!

💙💛 Wellness Wednesday at WWMS! 💛💙

Today, Washington-Wilkes Middle School students are kicking off Wellness Wednesday with the 7 Mindsets program! 🌟

Our first unit is Everything Is Possible, and today’s lesson focuses on Dream Big. 💭✨ Students will be encouraged to think beyond limitations, recognize their potential, and begin imagining the possibilities for their future.

At WWMS, we know student success is about more than academics. Supporting our students’ social and emotional wellness, confidence, positive mindset, and ability to set goals is an important part of helping them grow into successful young adults.

Each Wednesday, we’ll also share a Wellness Wednesday Tip from a member of our community, our staff or from a WWMS student giving all of our students another reminder that they have an entire community and school cheering them on! 💙
